Tried this cafe last week, it’s nestled in a smal corner of National Library Board Level 3 and because it’s so quiet there, the ambience is quite nice! Though if you cannot concentrate with music, it’s not a good place for you to study.
.
Firstly, I was quite disappointed by their food because in the pictures, they looked amazing but they don’t actually taste as nice as they look. I tried the student meal and I got the pasta which was overcooked and the matcha latte was pretty average as well. It tasted like soemthing you could make at home with full cream milk and matcha powder. I paid $3.50 to upgrade my ice lemon tea to a cold matcha latte and so obviously, my expectations were pretty high but it just didn’t taste like anything interesting or unique.
.
The service there wasn’t great too. Firstly, I waited 30minutes for my food. (i believe they r understaffed) Then, when it finally came, the staff there also got my order wrong and served me the pasta with beef and since I can’t eat beef, I asked if it was possible to change it to my pasta with mushroom. Then I had to wait another 15minutes for the pasta. In total, I waited 45minutes for my food. This other old lady who came after me and ordered after me got her food in 10minutes and finished her meal before I even started eating 😕 If I was in a rush, I probably wouldn’t be able to wait that long for the plate of pasta. The staff there were nice and friendly though 😊
.
Their prices are about the same as other cafes. But their portions are smaller. If you are craving cheese-baked pasta, go to 18chefs. It’s cheaper, better, faster and about 1.5x the portion size of this cafe. .
Overall, I wouldn’t come back here again but to be fair, there are lots of other items on their menu that I have yet to try. Maybe one day I’ll come back a second time to try other dishes and give a second review :) .
.
TLDR: not worth the price, doesn’t taste as good as it looks
