I woke up 3 or so days before an everglades sunrise shoot field trip with the south florida national parks camera club (@sfnpcc) and my camera died. It just farted and died. I was finally motivated to just go and do something with a group of people comprising no one I knew and this camera DIED. I reached out to @ihh61 to see if he knew of anyone willing to loan out a Canon. He did know someone. He would. So, I got down to Homestead on Saturday and got a quick lesson on his camera (after lots of wine and maybe some baby meatballs), got up at 5AM and off I went to Everglades National Park. I was beyond nervous from the start. Everyone had their tripods and their big ass lenses and their histogram talk. And I'm just this person who shoots what makes my insides feel lit up with gold sparklies. They were so generous with their knowledge and I shot in Manual mode nearly the whole time for the first time. The Everglades were alive. Peepers and croakers waking up. Mosquitos the size of pingpong balls bouncing off my cheeks and stinging me through my leggings. Sure, I shot the sunrise, but I also focused on the sky and the trees and how all of the textures around me warmed up as that sun rose in the chilly 60ish degree morning. It burned the horizon and caught on the glistening dewy ground. I squatted (nearly falling over because I'm old now) and shot the dewy arms. Then I shot it upside down for #topsyturvy . I flipped my comfort zone topsy turvy and my Sunday was unlike any other Sunday I've had. It was awesome. #52photochallenge#m17ns#make2017notsuck#findyourpark#nps#evergladesnationalpark#igersmiami
