SWIPE ⬅️ These are just a FEW of my favorite back exercises (tbh there aren’t many I don’t love), with one chest exercise thrown in 🤷🏻‍♀️:
👐🏼T-Bar Row: focus on keeping elbows close to your sides & avoid too much bouncing which is used for momentum
👐🏼Seated Rows: again, elbows close to sides, lean forward slightly to get a full stretch & ROM, but avoid leaning forward to gain momentum
👐🏼Wide-Grip Lat Pulldowns: pull with elbows- out and down. Full stretch at top with slight pause at bottom
🍈🍈 Flat Bench Press: push through heels of palms and engage lats to help push weight.

Common theme with training back is to pull with elbows to avoid overloading the biceps. Since we can’t see our backs when performing an exercise, it’s important to practice mind-muscle connection, and to do this, full range of motion, pausing/squeezing at the bottom (or top) of your rep, and not using momentum to move weight is v. important. Save disss post and try these out to build that back! 👐🏼 1.16.18

I just wanted to cover something.. I have been following a guide for 2 months now, and its fair to say I have gained ALOT of strength since then. I am not going to mention what guide it was and this isn’t an attempt of bashing it either. However, although it has helped me understand and learn so many new things, I have found that it is not for me 👎🏼

So grateful for everything I have tried and learnt though. If you are currently following a guide too and its not helping you or you dread it please don’t worry, not all guides are designed to help EVERYBODY, we all have a different body structure anatomy so it may work for some more than others. If it does work for you, great 👏🏼 If not, don’t feel bad, you don’t have to follow it, I have missed the way I trained and I’m gonna go back to my old routine because thats what works for me.

All in all I just wanted to say I am still happy I’ve followed a guide (didn’t complete it lol) Change is very important, at least I tried it, tried things I have never tried, allowed my body to adjust to different exercises and again most importantly, I have gained more strength over muscle mass but thats ok! Being strong is far more important, muscle mass is just apart of the journey.

I still remember graduating college asking myself what I was going to do . I was left with nothing but a degree feeling lost and confused 🤔

🔮I knew deep down that I had a passion for health and fitness that if I could make that my career I would put everything I have into it. .

Fast forward to today and I’m doing far better than I ever could of imagined mentally, emotionally, physically and living in Santa Barbara California to top it off 🎉

I know this is just the start for me. I will continue down this road not only improving myself but also that of others in their own journeys to a bettering themselves 👊🏻
