Day 314: Road Tripped to the North for the Cedars and Mountains.
The drive to the cedars started near the Mediterranean, took us around a massive canyons, and then into the mountains. Like I've said before, the diversity in the landscapes isn't found many places on this planet.
The Cedar Trees of Lebanon have always played an integral part in its history. The Phoenicians were the first to find value in this wood by building their ships with it. Over the years, this tree has maintained is value as an asset. They can also be found as the focal point on the Lebanon Flag!
There are a few cedar forests spread out amount the country. We visited one of the protected sites and walked through these thousand year old giants. It reminded me of Muir Woods in California.
We decided to drive higher into the mountains to take in the view. In a couple months, this part of the country will he covered in a couple meters of snow. I need to come back and hike this area next time I am in town. It's perfect for camping and exploring!! #folanfinds#folantravels#findfolan#exploretheworld#neverstopexploring#Lebanon#visitlebanon
