Tomorrow We Raise and We Rise! Please join us for a evening of fundraising, raffling, drinking, singing and probably crying! Debbie (photo) Joe (not in photo) every year do something incredible during bday celebrations. This year we are raising 💰 for 70 chrome books to be donated to Canal Alliance - a non profit champion of immigrants who lack the resources to be able to learn/live/work. Everyone deserves the right to a education! We are 1 chrome book away from reaching our goal. Thank you to all of our Rb homies who have already donated, and to those who have not, you better 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏾♀️ when you see me! #newdayonthehorizon#oprahinspired#immigrantsmakeamericagreat
CONFESSION || This used to be my mantra! In fact so much so I used to pride myself on being one step ahead wherever possible for my clients, my workload, the age old 'work/life balance'. That is until I realised that it was this 'hustle' to which we refer, that we causing me to go above & beyond in way too many aspects of my life & at the end of last year, after a crazy renovation that was pushed through the week before Christmas, I hit a massive wall. Something had to give.
That's why 2018 for me is going to be the year of 'doing my best', 'taking care of myself', 'setting boundaries between working & parenting' & last but not least 'competing with myself to be the best version of myself'. No one else. No other women. No other designers. No other Instagram accounts.
Being a part-time working Mum I try to give my clients & my babies the BEST version of me, but as most working Mums know this doesn't always happen, especially when we want to do everything to perfection! (Yep massive perfectionist, have you noticed 🤦🏻♀️ - something I'm working on 😉) I've found just since joining the social media world for my business, while I love connecting with my clients & followers yet another thing on my 'to do list' & comparing myself to other people in the industry.
This year Im committing to taking more pictures of my work (something I've been terrible with to date) sharing with you the stuff that I love & also keeping it real 💕reminding myself that while I love what I do my business does not define me. Remembering at the end of the day I'm doing my best & I won't have small babies forever. They deserve the BEST of me. Reminding myself that I can do anything, but I can't do everything.
Happy New year beautiful peeps ✨ Heres to a 2018 that sees you looking after your most important client - you! 👊🏽 #prettypictures#honestwords#speakyourtruth#oprahinspired
I'm a sucker for words! They speak to me when wandering...fortunately I have a camera to capture them as my #nomadicgirl life doesn't lend to acquiring things that aren't consumed or worn! And yet...nope...not buying...just savoring the reminder to love every minute!
If I want better, different, new... BE! I need to be it first. Starting now, just little steps of becoming that change. I'm learning that it really is an inside job... the time really is NOW! 😊
Secret is out. I was on Oprah 3 Times. She influenced/changed my life growing up.. inspired me and gave me hope to achieve my dreams and find happiness. To realize that one of the most important things is to use your life to help others. We all have that power inside. I never missed one episode. I even have an audience chair. Fugly pic but posting anyway (Yes, they did my hair like that.. can’t believe. Well, it for sure was not done by Andre Walker)
Grande mulher. #oprah#oprahinspired#elameinspira
"A new day is on the horizon!" Thank you Oprah for your inspiration, your wisdom, and all you continue to stand up for. And the fact that she is the first black woman to receive the Cecil B. Demille honor further confirms how much she has paved the way. @oprah we love you! ❤️#grateful#TimesUp
