I was able to get video of my man @trevska during his training session today. After getting some tech work in, we were able to get some weighted plyometric work. After some jumpin around, we opened the legs up a little bit. Did a little something with him I learned in college, and this kid responded so well. He has some serious goals this season and he’s doing all he can to reach those goals.

(With bloopers🤣) lets keep it real, diet is 70/30 clean/dirty so this is post pizza and brownies😜 And after posting this gonna do some yoga to get my mobility and flexibility back for better workouts and flow in routine. My main priority is consistency in workout routine. Had some friends asking me about what my plans is? I’m in the upper double digits for two shows and I will structure my diet a little more in February and around late March I will truly start my prep. I love sharing and love the messages I get with questions or encouragement! Happy Thursday! 💜🌻

I’ve decided to start training my vertical jump again as part my continuous experimentation on myself and to reconnect with the techniques and training philosophies I am constantly preaching my athletes. I have to say I am a little underwhelmed by the results... 10’9” spike touch (previously 11’2”) and 10’1” two-hand block touch (previously 10’3”). A little heavier and still battling an Achilles issue stemming from a nasty eversion sprain, but I think the results are fairly accurate. The goal is to get back over 11 feet in the next 16 weeks. The program I am following has helped hundreds of athletes gain 4+ inches in a summer so I feel confident having been highly trained in the past that I can see similar success!

I just woke from my nap and the first thing that comes to mind are choreography for my classes.

Hello people 🙋🏻‍♀️ Today I’m gonna discuss what to do when you don’t have equipment, and the equipment I think you shld have as a base (obv this is just for ppl who work out at home; if you have a gym membership, just use the heck out of their equipment!) 😅
I think that there are only two things you aaabsolutely need: a workout mat, and a foamroller. Notice that neither of them have anything to do w weights/making moves more hard— it’s abt the bare basics of making sure you train safely: 1. A mat to protect yr back fr all the sit-up variations/yr knees fr all the jumps you will be doing. 2. A foamroller to work out the soreness aft exercise 👍🏻 If for whatever reason you can’t get anything else, get these!! ✌🏻
From there, here are the other items I think it’d be good to have: a pair of dumbbells and a bench/aerobics steps. These aren’t 100% necessary, but will help a great deal cuz lots of resistance workouts incorporate weights. I’ve found a pair of dumbbells to be most flexible cuz you can use one on its own for single-armed moves/lighter weight, or two together for double-armed moves/heavier weight (and they can be doubled up as medicine balls [like this vid on the right] or kettlebells). I personally have had mine (3kg each so 6kg total) since day 1 of #bbg1, and they’ve been great! 2. If you hv e space, a bench/aerobics steps are great cuz it allows you to do “raised” jumping moves safely (e.g. split squats, double-bench jumps), without the base moving below you. If you’ve ever tried these w chairs/stools, you’ll know what I mean 😅
Now what happens if you don’t hv those? No biggy. Look for heavier-weighted items ard yr house (I’ve found that ginormous laundry bottles work great as dumbbell substitutes!). No skipping rope? Do air skips or jumping jacks— sth that gets yr heart rate up (altho of course these won’t be as challenging as tripping over a skipping rope 1,836,284 times) 😅 Above all, remember that safety is paramount 👍🏻

No weights today but I did do some cardio and by cardio I mean interval training. I always underestimate the “ass kicking” a cardio day gives me. Interval training over steady state cardio any day b/c it burns more calories. Studies show you will burn more calories from a 30 min high intensity cardio session than a 1 hour spent on the elliptical!

What? How? When you get on the elliptical and go at a steady state for 1 hour, you may burn anywhere from 300-600 calories in that one hour depending on a few factors but if you spend 30 mins doing a higher intensity cardio session, you may only burn 200-400 during the session BUT after you finish your body will continue to burn more calories through the day because of the effect this training has on your metabolism. This is why I believe it is important to incorporate this style of training in programs.

30 sec on/30 sec off
1. Jumping jacks w/ band around ankles
2. Twisted mountain climbers
3. Side to side w/band around knees
4. Jumping lunges

..not going to lie: I hate training legs. 😐 did some single leg RDLs, jump lunges, weighted frog pumps (not awkward looking at all 🙄), other various plyos and kickbacks with ankle weights. Finished off with a 20 min HIIT @onepeloton ride by @codyrigsby which had my stems on 🔥🚴🏻‍♀️👍.
