Yesterday, I was going through material I wrote at the beginning of the year. This piece reminded me again of something important. It's a snippet of a larger piece on my vision for writing.
Preface: no matter who you are, we all create something even if it doesn't fall inside art categories. This parts speaks of the legacy our creations leave behind.
Each event of our life is just another small nudge through the atmosphere. Our ghostly figures, blurring across time. Always moving until we too become just an imagination in the hearts of others.
We become the possibility, whether good or bad, that others will realize one day.
That is our afterlife and it is the imaginations that we draw out of ourselves and breathe life into that will determine our fate.
More amazing beauty from the Eastern Oregon Path of Totality yesterday. The best way I can describe the first glimpse of light after the moon passed over is an exploding crystal. Then immediately the glasses went back on. Also, upon research I noticed the 2045 path of totality will pass over my parent's home! Can't wait.
i met this girl waiting at the bus stop the first day of freshman year. i was so nervous and i looked over at her and asked her if she was a freshman also, nope. just short 😂 as we grew up and became our own people it still just CLICKED with us. this woman pours her heart into everyone and everything around her. i'm feeling blessed. happy 25th birthday colleen. 🖤
also for my future children, yes. they will be riding the school bus to highschool everyday. they could meet their best friend!! 👯
This is where my footsteps fall in time with my breathing and my mind and heart are both quiet, focused only on the trail ahead.
It's in these places that I feel like I've come home, that everything is in place, in time with the same rhythm. This is where everything started, my earliest memories, sacred spaces shared with my family.
Driving west towards this mountain fills me with a meditative calmness. Driving east away from her is physical pain.
I'll be back. #upperleftusa#pnw
Tidbit Tuesday: One of my personal passions is designing nurseries. It is something that I love to do. I believe that there are always ways to have a beautiful functional space on a budget. This gorgeous nursery is exactly that, and all for under $1000.
Helping create this room with @christinanienhuis and @heyitswalter was such a pleasure. @christinanienhuis has amazing taste which made this experience so much fun. Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special space in your home.
I know everyone is sick of eclipse stuff by now but I must say, experiencing totality right outside my hometown 4000 ft up on the highest peak on the Oregon coastal range was absolutely surreal. Although the eclipse was short lived, it was a solid reminder to never take our planets natural beauty for granted. Weather it's a once in a lifetime eclipse or something as simple as a starry night or sun set, we must always appreciate the natural wonders that surround us everyday. For someone like me who is so heavily inspired by nature I can honestly say The eclipse was fucking rad. So yeah... nature is pretty neat and the eclipse was cool af. Rant over. (Thanks @jhayespnw and Chelsea Ebert for the invitation you guys are amazing friends!)
This summit might not look like much but this moment was euphoric. Standing at 12,280k on top of the second highest peak in washington alongside this group of brave, badass women was everything. We realized that SOO many people we passed acted shocked that a group of younger ladies summited this beast alone and one of us was even asked if we got separated from a group of men. Nope! no men here but cheers to the adventurous ladies around the world, crushing stereotypes, conquering mountains, living fearlessly and all around killin' the game 🍻👊🏼🔥
