I used to be an art director in advertising and am a self taught photographer. If you're a designer or in another design related discipline, there are sooooo many transferable skills that help with photography! My path to my career certainly hasn't been a straight one but I'm grateful for every experience, even the really weird ones (like being the intern at the Philadelphia Zoo that had to stand there with a net at the flying squirrel exhibit, in case the little guy got loose! #truestory )
