MORNING MUSINGS: We aren't just here for ourselves. One of the desires of my heart isn't just to be blessed so I can enjoy a good life, but so that my blessings will overflow into the lives of others. I want to be the woman who walks into a room and the whole atmosphere shifts for the better, not because of who I am, but because of Who just walked in with me. I want to be the person who gives without holding back because she can. I want to be able to tithe 80% of my income and live comfortably off of 20% (because it's God who has my heart, and not money). Don't get it twisted - you have the power to change the world. These scenarios are all possible to each of us. But they only happen when we dream big dreams, and pray big prayers.
At the same time, I'm also learning that there are some answers that come only by corporate prayer. Sometimes you have to share your dreams and desires with the people who you trust and who are your proverbial tribe. And I'm not talking about those people who will tell you to be more realistic, no. I'm talking about the kind of friends who will tell you if your prayer is too small, your request too unspecific, or your dream too limiting. The kind who will believe for you in ways that it can sometimes be hard to believe for yourself. The Bible talks about the power of corporate prayer in Matthew 18: "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Some of us need to get in agreement with others about the things we're believing God for in our lives. It'll go a long way in seeing God bring heaven to earth.
