An early render and compositing test for one of the main characters for my short film. The Character was made in MAYA and I used After Effects a bunch for this and the film itself - in terms of layering visuals on top to get the effect as seen.
The final film is not to far off this aesthetically and I was pretty happy with the test to move forward with it.
I am excited to announce that my film “Sea-Tectives” is an official selection in the Austin Spotlight Film Festival in Austin, Texas! This will certainly be a great event with some great films and it is a real pleasure to be able to participate in this festival! The screening will be November 29th, 2017 at 6pm at the Spider House Cafe and Ballroom in Austin, Texas! If you are there stop on by and see some great films!

Willie Whopper: Hell’s Fire, aka Masquerade Holiday | 1934 | dir. Ub Iwerks | ??? as Mr. Devil
This is the second animated #devilonscreen I’ve shared that was created by Ub Iwerks. To have spent the amount of time it took in the 20’s & 30’s to animate at least a couple of features centered around The Devil in Hell, I think it’s safe to say Mr. Iwerks had a slight obsession with Satan. Hell’s Fire features some amusing anti-Prohibition gags and American propaganda, but unless you have 7 minutes to kill, you’re not missing much if you pass this one up. Unfortunately, I couldn’t track down a proper voice credit

Excited to share my first ever animation "short", although it only consists of a short duration of 20 seconds. Rendered with Maya with Arnold, composited in Nuke, pieced together and colour graded in Premiere Pro.
This is also my first time modelling, texturing and animating humans.. boy, there were so many challenges along the way. Though the animation and timings are not as refined and polished, I'm glad I was able to model, texture, animate, light, render and composite everything before the deadline. It was such an enriching experience working from the start of the pipeline till the final product. Rendering layers with Arnold and exploring Subsurface scattering (SSS) for skin was also something I explored through this project. Thankful to my tutor, Yi Hui, who helped me tremendously!
Hopefully, over the course of my studies, I can continue to work on and improve my technical skills further!
