Good morning, good morning artichok-eeeee! How many of you love artichokes? 🙋🏻 Did you know that artichokes are bursting 💥 with antioxidants and pytochemicals? Both of these are exactly what the body needs to fight 👊🏼 off those nasty free radicals. These guys speed up the aging and disease process and I really don’t think anyone is sitting around wanting that. 🤔 So you see why it’s so important to eat those foods that help keep us healthy!
So many awesome things 🙌🏼 about artichokes but specifically one other is it’s ability to reduce 👇🏼the growth of cancerous cells and therefore prevent cancerous tumors. Three specific antioxidants help with this ; rutin, quercetin, and gallic.
So add artichokes to your grocery shopping list and try one today!
The only dinner i had while in rome. For the first time I had the famous fried artichoke, so I decided to have an "artichoke themed" dinner and I took a delicious pasta with the sauce. I was very happy with the choice, because there was a lot of sauce! I have to say that I didn't know how to eat the fried one, technically speaking, at the end I had each petal by hands.
Visited two month old @parkstreet268 at South Melbourne and what a beautiful Italian restaurant with a formal dining room feel and high ceilings yet still with a casual atmosphere to it. We started off with this beautifully presented entree.
Charred S.A. octopus, romesco, jerusalem artichoke, sweet potato crisps ($18). A colourful dish which had a beautiful tomato capsicum cashew sauce paired with the octopus

Soaking artichoke seeds in worm juice before sowing
Yesterday I soaked 80 artichoke seeds in diluted worm tea to innoculate them with microbes before carefully placing them into seed raising trays.
I was also playing them sacred choral music from the 1500's (Palestrina) to wake them up from their sleep. There have been many studies about how music and sound affects plants - one of these I found separated music into two categories - positive and negative music. When plants were placed in a isolated chamber and played sacred choral music for 8 hrs of the day the growth was considerably more than the control plant (without music). This plant actually grew towards the speaker. In the same experiment they played Jimi Hendrix to a plant and it grew away from the speaker and nearly died.
#похожначертополох#sketch#sketchbook#artichoke#myparentsgarden#markers#healthyfood#vegetable
Yesterday we found a surprise growing in our garden! A little baby artichoke! We actually learned how to recognize and harvest artichokes this past summer when we were “farmers for a day” in Crete 🇬🇷. We had no idea those skills would come in handy in our own backyard! So now we are hoping to find some surprise lemons and aioli growing in our garden, and we’ll be all set! 👩🌾👨🌾
