🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹
🇬🇧 The Portrait of Young Woman with Unicorn is a famous painting by Raffaello dating back to 1507 and housed at the Borghese Gallery in Rome. The young woman is a Florentine, as is evident from the precious fashionable dress of the early sixteenth century - the gamura - with the large red velvet sleeves and the silk satin bodice. The painting, which does not have certain documentary news, was commissioned, most likely, as a wedding gift. Some decorative details, in particular the pendant stones (ruby and sapphire), suggest symbolic references to marital virtues and the virginal purity of the bride. 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 ⠀ 🏛Aiutaci a far conoscere il nostro Patrimonio🏛
The Parthenon of Books by artist Marta Minujín is a decisive symbol of resistance to any banning of writings and the persecution of their authors. As many as 100,000 formerly or currently banned books from all over the world are needed to create the work on Friedrichsplatz in Kassel, where, on May 19, 1933, some 2,000 books were burned by the Nazis during the so-called “Aktion wider den undeutschen Geist” (Campaign against the Un-German Spirit).

Last night I had an art opening and had to provide snacks. I repurposed cloth napkins by cutting them up smaller into squares to use as plates. I piled them in a little stack (like on the left) for people to use. I'll post pictures of the food later today. When an unanticipated event pops up, Zero Waste tests your creativity, it forces you to come up with new solutions and often keeps your costs low because you're forced to repurpose or thrift, both of which are cheaper than buying new.
Usually at these events there is a table with snacks and food. Since this was my responsibility I was determined to make it plastic free. I didn't get as far as thinking about cups and drinks, but since it was only two hours I figured that was ok. The napkin solution was an experiment, but it worked great and a few people used them! There are alternatives to what we're used to seeing, sometimes it just takes a little extra creative thinking ✌😻❤⚡
