It's the weekend! Fear used to cripple me when it came to the weekend and eating and going out. At one point I would avoid going places thinking "if I stay home I won't eat bad stuff." Or I would obsess with how I could find something on the menu that was healthy enough to make me feel ok about eating it, and not feel guilty later. ๐Ÿ™Šlife is too short not to eat the nachos. Perfectionism was no way to balance. And I realize how, eating healthy the majority of the time and having a better mindset leads me to actually enjoy myself when I do go out and have a "treat" that I want. And I can leave happy and not panicked about what I just ate. I know it didn't take me 1 meal to get healthy, and it won't make you unhealthy from one dinner. It's about the balance. Also I learned that balance doesn't mean 4 meals consisting of nachos a weekend either ๐Ÿคฃ you live and you learn. Just don't forget to live. โค๏ธ #happy #healthy #love #cleaneating #fitness

I think the first ten minutes of the workout were the hardest mentally for me today. I was like nope no way, I can stop now I'll be ok if I stop now. But that's the behavior that gets me FURTHER from my goals not closer! 
The feeling of finishing a hard workout, sweat dripping from your face, and having those endorphins pumping is AMAZING! 
You don't have to be motivated 24/7 you just have to WANT to get better more than you want to stay in the same place ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป .

I haven't been running much lately because I unfortunately lost a toenail a few weeks into my Chicago Marathon training. Then I eat a stick of gum. (I swear it helps with not getting too thirsty during cardio) -AWESOME WORKOUT- After workout: I eat 100 calories worth of protein powder or a 100 calorie protein shake.  I also eat a smoothie with 1/2 banana, 1-2 handfuls of spinach, and water blended.  This routine is my go to for having mega energy during a workout and replenishing/preventing hunger after my workout.  Hope it helps!โค๏ธ .

We were on our way to a wedding last night 5 hrs away and ran over a tire, messed up the bumper, some computer box fell and some of the plastic burned from it. We had to turn around and go back home, take the car to the shop and miss the wedding. 
Am I upset?! Not really. 
Could something worse happen? Yes. 
It's the same in any situation. Life will NOT always go as planned, but your attitude will make the difference. 
So thank You God for protecting us and life goes on โœŒ๐Ÿผ

Some mornings I still find it so difficult to get up. I'm not sure why. I guess a lot of us mom's who have to spend so much time alone entertaining our kiddos during the summer kind of start to dread the monotony. Or maybe that's just me with my VERY energetic little dude! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Once I get myself up, I pour that first cup of coffee and head out to the sunroom to let the dogs out. Sometimes I just have to take a few minutes to stand there and think about all the things I am grateful for and all of the ways I have grown and changed over the year. When negative thoughts creep in and I feel like I'm failing or not as good as someone else on social media, I just have to stop and look around. My kids are healthy and happy, we have a beautiful home and 2 crazy pups, my husband/best friend of almost 18 years still thinks I'm awesome, and I have kept this plant alive for more than a month! ๐Ÿ’š

I did my full body workout today (full workout below) and I am pooped ๐Ÿ’ฉ I tried a different approach this morning and went heavier on my lifts. Not to a one rep max level (I'll talk about this on another post) but enough to decrease my reps and my muscles are already sooore.
Give it a go, I've included my weights jus as a reference but please remember everyone is different and I am sure some of you can lift more than me, some can lift less so ๐Ÿ‘‚to your body and do what works for you. To give you a guideline, you should find the last 2 reps difficult but not impossible. Let me know how you get on ๐Ÿ’ช

I feel like the last person to join the party but I finally decided to get a Fitbit! I have only had it three days but I have learnt so much! Some of my findings so far....1)My usual 'short' running route I have always guessed to be about 4.5km is actually just over 6km! I will look forward to finding out what some of my longer routes are๐Ÿ˜‚ 2) Hoovering is great for fat burning so the cleaner is sacked next week๐Ÿ˜œ 3) My initial panic at not falling within the 'normal' resting โค๏ธ BPM of 60-100 is all okay. Apparently it means I am pretty fit๐Ÿ’ช (I like my Fitbit a lot๐Ÿ˜Š) 4) My runs that I count as LISS are very definitely not LISS but HIIT๐Ÿ™Š 5) I reach 10000 steps by lunchtime. 6) I have never touched on macros but mine seem to be a pretty good split so far. 7) The strangest one is that apparently I need to eat another 1000 calories each day๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Not sure about this! I made them without maple syrup and just added it on later so I Gabe could have some too. Yay for baby led weaning! P.S. Ingredients:

2 pieces whole wheat bread

1 egg

ยผ cup pureed acorn squash

Cinnamon

Directions:

Wisk squash, eggs and cinnamon together. Cut off crust of bread and cut into sticks. Place in egg mixture for 2 minutes per side. Cook on medium low for 2 minutes per side.  Yummy!

@beyonddiet love your Garlic Parmesan Zucchini and Grape Tomatoes ๐Ÿ˜˜ but I made it #paleo roasting them just with garlic and herbs without parmesan.
I don't like cooking, simple and easy recipe is a must for me. ๐Ÿ—Roast Chicken๐Ÿ—
1. Preheat fan forced oven 180c.
2. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil. Rub in pink himalayan salt, cracked black pepper, smoked paprika.
3. Stuffed fresh rosemary and sage under the skin.
4. Squeeze a lemon all over the chicken and under the skin. Put the remaining inside the cavity, together with some rosemary, sage and 3 bulbs of garlic.
5. Put inside the oven. 2 kg of chicken takes about 1.5 hours.

Around 32-34 weeks I was having a lot of tachycardia and my heart rate would get crazy. That's when pregnancy took the biggest toll on me. My resting heart rate maxed out at 78bpm at that time. And now we are back to the mid 50's which is where I was before I got pregnant! I will say it again- the human body is an incredible thing!! .

My back is one of my biggest insecurities, but it's a work in progress. 
Today's weigh in: 182.0lb -1.6 from last week. Period bloat was real this past week, but the scale decided to finally move. I still weigh myself daily and I was up to 185 this week so it just goes to show that my body does retain water during that time of month. I ALWAYS put on a good 5lbs every month, so don't always use the scale as a way of tracking.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ Anyone else's mind a battlefield? Trying to conjure up self-discipline and being kind to yourself in your mind? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ I'm getting better at it. I've read a bit about building positive momentum. As we make good choices, we gain momentum, and it's easier to continue to. If we mess up - it's all up to how we frame the mistake in our minds as to whether we'll be able to get the momentum going or not.

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ Anyone else's mind a battlefield? Trying to conjure up self-discipline and being kind to yourself in your mind? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ I'm getting better at it. I've read a bit about building positive momentum. As we make good choices, we gain momentum, and it's easier to continue to. If we mess up - it's all up to how we frame the mistake in our minds as to whether we'll be able to get the momentum going or not. Miss a Monday? Who cares? There's still Tues-Sunday to get it done. Last week I didn't even get started until SATURDAY (granted, I wasn't even going to try LISS). ๐ŸŒž Happy Weekend! We're at my brother's cottage and I'm planning to get a run and legs in today.
