✔Those home workouts don't work✔✔I used to think at home workouts were a joke. How coukd really get a good, solid workout without equipment and from your bedroom? Yea right. ✔I can't get results in just 30 minutes a day✔✔I thought in order to get a killer body you had to be at the gym for 1- 2 hours using the elliptical. 😅😅 ✔Those programs are a scam ✔✔The programs work when you follow it along with proper nutrition. 🏋️♀️🍅🍏🏋️♀️ ✔I'm busy and don't have time workout ✔✔ I don't have time...but I make time to take care of myself. I schedule my workouts as apart of my day so I can fit it in. ✔I need to be at a gym to workout.✔✔I can workout anywhere! No more searching to see if our hotel is near a gym or if the hotel evens has one. As long as I have wifi, I can do it anywhere I want.

Today was a difficult day as the country is shaken up. In pain but not fearful.
We continue finding strength in the midst of hatred and death. We stand up and keep on fighting, because fear cannot win, fear will not win.

This week has been tough for me. If you hear someone say they have Rheumatoid Arthritis it might not just be affecting their joints. It can affect many organs as well as joints. People can die from complications of RA. I used to run , walk and do aerobics. I still swim do yoga and try hard to be as active as I can. When I say this has been hard. I've had lots of meetings that have tied me to my desk. ☹️. I'm behind on everything right now. My steps have been really low. I've been flaring for a while while I wait for new med to kick in. Many RA meds cause weight gain so it feels like no matter how healthy I try to be it's a losing battle. Today I set the goal to get up and walk all ten hours no matter what. I was swamped the first 3. So I'm determined to make 7. I can tell you after 4 my left foot and ankle are starting to throb painfully. The RA started in that foot about 6 years ago. So the moral of this story is don't take your health for granted. Don't judge someone else by what you see on the outside. You don't know their story. Their pain. The Sanskrit word "antu” is used at the ending here and transforms this amazing mantra into a powerful pledge: "I promise to do that”
This mantra reminds us that we are not separate and independent beings. We are interconnected with all living beings in the universe. We cannot achieve true happiness if we cause unhappiness to other living beings, nor we can be free if we deprive others of their freedom.
This soothing mantra speaks to ahimsa or non-violence. Ahimsa is part of the eight-limbed path of yoga as put forth by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. Ahimsa is a multidimensional concept, inspired by the premise that all sentient beings have the seed of the divine spiritual healing energy. Hence, to hurt another sentient being is to hurt oneself.
In fact, Patanjali leads off the Yamas (ethical laws) with ahimsa, stating that "in the presence of one firmly established in non-violence, all hostilities cease.” To fully live peacefully, your thoughts, words, and actions towards others must also be peaceful.
When you start to consider that we (living beings) are all connected in some way, shape, or form, you will then open up to respecting that intricate web of life and no longer wish to cause any type of harm to the world around you. 🦋Om shanti shanti shanti, y'all 🙏
I have not done a hot yoga class in some weeks because I've been doing Barre and Power Flow and a lot of walking and let me tell you it pretty much wrung me out! In a good way though... there is nothing like that heat and a lot of sweating to set you right. Of course this pic is before the sweating 😘💕🤸♂️By the way why in this day in age is there no yoga emoji?!
This awesome lady @andreazalkin, and today's #sylvensiren just blew me away with her work. She hosted a photography exhibit last night, and reminded me that supporting local, supporting other creatives, supporting other women, and just being a genuinely good friend come second nature to her. She also rocks the hell out of anything I ever need to style her in, and manages to be even better behind the camera than in front of it. 🙌
Do you ever talk to yourself in a way you'd never talk to an enemy.. let alone a friend? Guilty🙋 I can say some mean things to myself. Not only is it NOT cool, but it's also the single biggest deterrent in achieving my goals.
I used to think that if we aren't getting the results we want in our lives, it's because we're not taking enough action (or the "right" actions). This is true but it's not the whole story. It's much deeper than that. It starts with our BELIEFS. Our beliefs about ourselves. Our beliefs about what we're doing. ✨Our beliefs lead to our feelings. Our feelings lead to our actions. And our actions lead to our results✨
Our beliefs are reallllllly freaking powerful. They're rooted far down within us. Many of them go back to childhood. They're habitual & our mind goes to them instinctively.
It takes a great amount of effort to break such deeply rooted habits, but it's a battle I'm more than willing to fight! This war with my belief patterns is definitely on-going. And this book right hear is my weaponry.
I've dedicated this book to writing daily affirmations. Affirmations about myself and my life. I write each affirmation in the present tense ("I AM" instead of "I Will"). The more I write them, the more I believe them.. Which is why I write in this book every morning, EVERY darn DAY!
