It’s a journey! And the road has never been straightforward... there have been mountains to climb, pot holes to fall down and walls that have stood in my way. And this is a reminder to me today on how far I’ve come. On the left I think I was at my heaviest topping 115kg (size 22 clothes, body fat is 53%, lean muscle 18kg) On the right yesterday 82kg wearing size 12/14) with 32% body fat and 30KG of lean muscle.... so in losing 32KG of fat I have also gained 12KG if lean muscle. In the space of a year I have changed who I am. And why am I reminding myself today? Because today I was doing my first triathalon.... but it hasn’t worked out because of family commitments. I’m a mum of 3 beautiful kids and I have responsibilities. So that is OK... I will reschedule my triathalon right debut for the next event! In the meantime - look at me riding this wave and winning!! Have a great day ❤️

#2 all I do care about is my body fat. I feel like that’s really the only way we can measure where we’re at. Along with our own measurements too. I honestly didn’t think I’d have much of a difference in 6 months time, so I’m feeling pretty stoked to see this!

Immediate post-workout carbohydrate consumption is often believed to be necessary for replenishing depleted muscle glycogen to kickstart recovery. But when we look at the research, we see that a more flexible approach may work just as well for those that train only once per day [1]. .

One study compared carbohydrate consumption immediately after exercise with carbohydrate consumption 2 hours after exercise [2]. No significant differences were found in muscle glycogen levels 24 hours after training. .

It's also worth mentioning that muscle glycogen levels do not deplete quickly through heavy resistance training [3]. In another interesting study, volunteers performed 27(!) sets in a full-body workout and muscle glycogen levels only lowered by 36% [4]. A substantial amount, but not close to depletion. .

So, if for some reason you do not want to consume carbs immediately after training, you don't have to. If you have 24 hours until your next training session and consume enough carbs throughout the day, you will be fine. .

I slightly moved so it looks a little odd but i wanted y’all to see what it looks like. By end of January I’m aiming for 18% BF then once I’ve hit that I’ll focus on strengthening. From there looking into some powerlifting competitions. I have a weight class in mind so I want to focus on be stronger in that weight class. About 18 to 24 months ago, I was ready to dial in this part of my life. .
.
•I took fragrances and lotions out of my daily application. (#7 below). .
.
•I evolved our soaps, shampoos, sunscreens, and toothpaste thru our home. (#4 & #5 below).

•As of October 1, 2016, I took grains out of my diet to minimize the impact of the pesticides from the fields (#3 below), now living grain-free, staying off of wheat, corn, and rice, to name a few. .

•I pulled back on cheap coffee {Sorry I'm not there as often, Starbucks!} and switched to the Bulletproof brand, made at home to minimize mold. (#2 below) .

•I threw out all of our plastic ware in the home and quit housing my daily water in a gallon jug, now using stainless steel instead. (#8 & #9 below)

Our bodies are like buckets.  We collect drips by the day.  I'm sure I haven't gotten it all, but I've worked to minimize my daily "drip" exposure and that is what matters most. .

This has helped to heal my body from the inside out, what I now know was a big part of my body's development of my thyroid autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. .

These changes were a long process, but the compound effect has had a great impact on my system. .

Learning to listen the the body is crucial, most dont realise the importance of consistent REST days...
In the gym we break the body down, destroy up the muscle fibers...only when we rest does the body actually change.
So sometimes if you have plateaued...maybe you are not resting enough inbetween training days
