Baby, you summertime fine!
That's what I said to this #Vegan Dark Chocolate and Banana Muffin I got from @faculty.coffee yesterday.
Faculty have been killing it with their vegan offerings lately. Keep doing what you're doing guys!
No chapped lips for me this winter! I got my Balm Dotcom Trio, because this @glossier addiction is progressing with strength...I went for Cherry - for when I want a festive tint, Coconut- because of the smell and you can use it on cuticles/dry spots etc too, and Birthday - because I like a bit of sparkle + the smell of cake 💕😘
So I thought I'd give myself a fresh start on the blog front as I missed writing about Birmingham! Introducing 'Bethan in Brum' 💖 It's early days and I've got loads to do yet, but I'm excited for a new little venture! ✨ #brumbloggers
There’s something about autumn that has me reaching for my knitting, which is handy as @makeandfable’s Creative Your Way prompt this week was autumn 👍🏻 I don’t think my knitting skills will ever improve past making scarves, blankets or shrugs (so, basically rectangles!) but I enjoy it anyway 😊 Something to take my mind off everything else around me...
It really is the little things that make life better
Dungaree dress (bonus points for pockets)
A successful attempt at waving my hair
A weekend spent catching up on Netflix with @makinganotehere .
Ok Monday, come at me. I’m ready for a ya
The Dundee Law is an extinct volcano that overlooks the Scottish city of Dundee. It's got quite a view, as you can see in this week's Sunday Photo.⠀
Google Maps reckoned that it was just a mile from the city centre to the Law, so obviously I decided to walk it. And to be honest, it doesn't look very steep from the bottom...
But it was worth it for the view! You can see the city below you, and the river Tay and the countryside beyond. As you can see in the photo, the clouds were very low and there was rain threatening, so I didn't stay up there for long. But it's definitely worth heading up if you are visiting Dundee.⠀
And I treated myself to a big slice of cake when I got back down into town again. I think I deserved it, don't you?⠀
I stayed at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee, and you can read my review of the hotel over on the blog later this week.
I see makeup. Makeup everywhere. Can you spot any of your favourites? 🙀😍😂
So I spent the whole day yesterday cleaning my Alex drawers. And it’s looking so organised now! 😍 Super proud here! Now off to take some blog photos, then blog a bit, then work on procedure notes for work, catch up on my e-mails and prep for a meeting... Sunday fun (not) day 😂😩
Tonight @digbethdiningclub, it's #vegan heaven! But I went for my favourite @leaveittoesmie.
I had some Fried Plantain and a Carribean Burger, which is a freshly fried dumpling that contained jerk soya and salad. The sauce on the soya was incredible. As was the plantain. That's my fried food craving catered to!
What are you guys eating tonight?
Heading out super early for work this Saturday morning, and dreaming of lazier breakfast in bed days 😴🍓 At least my legs are looking super golden, thanks to @welovesunkissed 🌞 Anyone else in the Saturday-work club? 👀
Look Mama, we made it!
A little J Cole lyrics there because I love that man's music and because I went to #Mowgli today with my mowgli aka Mama.
First impressions are good. Loved the selections on the #vegan menu, food was authentic and friggin' good. Much better than other Indian eateries I've tried recently, I'm looking at you Tamatanga. Service is a tad slow but I'll allow that, I mean they did just open on Tuesday!
In the pic is their Vegan Tiffin for one, which was ace and a huge portion. I couldn't finish it. Not bad for £14!
Mowgli in Grand Central 🐒🐒🐒 the interior is super cute, and I am talking SUPER CUTE, if you imagine a hipster recreation of the Jungle Book, you’d get Mowgli.
The food I’d heard mixed reviews about but the menu is outstanding, I was spoilt for choice. In the end I rattled it down to 3 solids of; tamarind treacle chips, temple daal & puri and the angry bird. I think it’s important at this point, however, to note that I could have happily have eaten anything.
I’m short, the food was delicious, a solid 4/5. The only bits that knocked them off the top 5 rating would be the way the servers brought the food we were ill informed about the chat bombs (all in your mouth at once guys) there was clumsiness over opening presentation tins which resorted in being wedged open with a spoon etc. The food is fab, the service is ok, this could be because it’s new, inexperienced staff and whatnot. Would absolutely go back, I need to try absolutely everything else. 🥘🍹 #grandcentralstation#grandcentral#birmingham#mowglistreetfood#brum#food#indian#indianfood#streetfood#foodreview#birminghamblogger#review#foodporn#birminghamlife#brumbloggers @atgrandcentral
My Chicken Cacciatore is full of rich, hearty flavours - perfect for a chilly October evening. And because you make it in a slow cooker, it's super-easy to have ready when you need it. Why not make it this weekend?⠀
Take a look at my recipe over on the blog (link in profile). And don't forget to enter my giveway - you could win a slow cooker of your own.
FRIDAY 🎉 What are your plans tonight?
I'm heading to the Midlands Fashion Awards and will be eager to see what our local fashion talent has to offer. 📸 I'll be sharing on my Instagram Story and on Twitter if you fancy seeing what I get up to.
And yes, as it's a fashion event, I'll be wearing black of course. 😂 Probably not this dress as I think I'll be overdressed!
Literally how my Autumn is looking. I havent reached for another pallet in ages. I think i need to get back to working with colours.
These are my fave go to pallets but i feel im stuck in a rut atm and need to venture out of my comfort zone.
