Number 8 in the countdown is from Gibson Steps, along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. By far one of my favourite astro shoots of the year.

Just me and my moment of solitude in the canyons of the Blue Mountains. With so much to see and experience I sit with little sense of time passing around me. Luscious greens and pristine icy waters surround me as the occasional crayfish and fish beckon me to return soon and continue our last conversation.
Now, in the thick of summer, it's that time of the year for more canyon adventures! I'll be organising two walk in canyon hikes in the Blue Mountains in January! More details to follow later, but feel free to send me a DM for an idea of what's to come and state your interest! The summer heat is a perfect reason to get a little wet and enjoy the season!
This gorgeous off trail canyon in the Grand Canyon is just one example of many canyons easily accessible by walk-in, but not necessarily advertised or well known to hikers.
Location: Canyons of the Grand Canyon Trail, Blackheath, Blue Mountains - NSW
Directions: After heading to Blackheath and Evans Lookout Road, park at one of the carparks and start the famous roughly 3 hour loop trail. The back entrance to the canyons are located near the midpoint section and do require short swims at certain points but the first few sections can be done without getting wet. (DM for directions to canyon)
Highlights: This spectacular canyon can be accessed walk in from the back or as an abseil from the start accessed halfway down the Neates Glen side of the trail. Make sure you do the highlight of what is already a spectacular walk!
Re-gram of one of my favourite images I took in Tonga! For anyone who is considering going I would say that it is the best thing I have ever done and highly recommend it! -

Day 22 of 30 - Launceston, home of the Cataract Gorge (p1-3) and the number 2 city in Tasmania. But if I’m honest it’s really my number 1 city. It’s peaceful, rich in historical buildings and parks that rival the big cities. It may not have a lively cultural scene but when you walk its streets you begin to see the charm in it all.
⚡⚡BEASTS OF BIRDING⚡⚡
🎄Christmas special🎄. .
〰Jesus Bird, aka Comb-crested Jacana, aka Lotus Bird, aka Lilytrotter 🌸.
If my memory of the bible is correct (and i think it is), Mary & Joseph named their son after the Jesus Bird because he was hatched in a small nest of swamp vegetation floating on a lilypad one christmas morning.🐣
Ooooor maybe the bird was named thusly because, like JC, they can walk on water 🏊🚶🏊... Sort of. Their enormous toes distribute their weight across lily pads enabling them to stay afloat... This one chose a pad too small and sank 😳. Their little santa hat changes colour from orange to red depending on their behaviour 🎅
