Throwback to the day we brought theses little ones home 😻 31/12/2017
My bf sneakily bought a kitten for me for Christmas (he arrived 4 days before Christmas) & I was over the moon with joy! I cried like a baby when he poked his gorgeous little head out of the box he was in🤦♀️
He was our first furbaby together & I absolutely fell in love - immediately.
Sadly on the 2nd day he wasnt doing very well & refused to eat but drank water constantly, eventually on the 3rd night he stopped drinking as well, & on Christmas day we had to put him down. Iv never done so much research in such a short space of time before. We tried everything, we tried syringe feeding him blended food - he just spat it out, we eventually started syringe feeding him 10ml of glucose water every hour when we noticed he had stopped drinking. This Christmas day was one of the hardest days I've ever had to go through. We suspect he had parvo which surprised me because no one picked up on this - he had been vet checked & had his inoculations (unless he just couldn't bounce back from his inoculations).
The SPCA recently had to put down all their kittens because they all had parvo & he had his inoculations at the SPCA so maybe he came into contact with it there🤷♀️😖 A few days after Christmas we decided to go have a look at another foster mom's kittens and that is when I saw these two again. I had met them before at a friend's house when they were still newborn & really liked the black and white one - she was the only black & white kitten in the litter, the rest (3 others) were Calico😋 how that happened is beyond me.
I was very skeptical at first & did a thorough check on them to make sure their gums were beautiful & pink, that their stools were solid, that they didn't have discharge from their eyes/nose & most importantly, if they were drinking & eating. Luckily, they had all passed stools while I was there & they ate like champions. These two were full of life & were very playful! The most playful two of the litter for sure. We decided a few days later that we were going to adopt them and I have never been happier!
If you made it this far, Thank you for reading❤
