Hey everyone! Happy Sunday Funday! 🏈 You may have seen in some of my recent posts/stories that I’ve been wearing some super cute clothes by @thenothinbutsunshineshop, my new favorite clothing boutique owned by my good friend Cyndie! Today I’m doing a takeover on her page, so hop on over & check it out! ☺️
These kiddos are seriously the cutest... Thank you for all of the kind words. Sorry it got cut off! The full video is posted on my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/Drjessenderby - that is also where you can ask me any questions!
I did something this morning, that makes me 100% uncomfortable, and is something I have NEVER done before! I got up after having some drinks lastnight, and I went to the fitness room at the hotel and I worked out!
This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but to go and do this on my own literally scares the crap out of me. One of the reasons I never liked going to the gym was all the other people. So I got up early, hoping and praying that no one else would be in there and about half way through someone came in. I nearly died. My initial reaction was to just leave....but instead I said screw it. Just finish no matter how awkward it may feel. And GUESS WHAT?!?!? I DID IT!! I finished my entire workout and cool down with someone else in the room! That is such a huge non scale victory for me today! #proudofmyself
What is 1 thing that you don't normally do that scares the crap out of you???
Today, Norah is dressed as Anna Komnene -- a Byzantine princess, scholar, physician, and historian 👸🏻👩🏻🎓👩🏻⚕️🙋🏻 Considered the world's first female historian, Anna was born to Emporer Alexios I, and wrote the Alexiad -- a fifteen-volume account about the years of her father's reign 📜 The Alexiad remains one of the few and complete sources of Byzantine culture and is a reference for historians today. Anna was highly educated; studying literature, Greek language, rhetoric, and sciences 📖🔱 ⚗️ With this vast knowledge, her father appointed her to manage all the orphanages and hospitals in Constantinople --overseeing some 10,000 patients 🏥She taught medicine at the hospital, and was known as an expert in treating gout, the illness which eventually killed her father in 1118 ☠️ After his death, her brother, John was appointed Emporer. Feeling cheated (it's been said John stole the Emporer's ring off her father as he lie on his death bed) Anna plotted to overthrow John and replace him with her husband, Nicephorus Bryennius 👑 Her husband refused to go along with the plot 🚫 When John found out, he was none too pleased and threw Anna, along with her mother, out of court. She spent the rest of her days living alone in a convent where she wrote the Alexiad ✝️ In it, she includes the disgust she feels with her husband's unwillingness to carry through with the plot and noted that "nature had mistaken their sexes, for he ought to have been the woman." #DontBeAfraidOfFeminism 💥This post is part of a 31-day challenge where I share inspirational feminist icons you or your daughters can dress up as this Halloween! 🎃👻 Follow along with the hashtag #DontBeAfraidOfFeminism and check out my essay on the topic in the link in my profile 🔝
These words always remind me of the incredible love of Jesus! 💙 Friend, you are enough. You are loved beyond measure and you are treasured by the creator of the universe! Be a blessing and tag a friend who needs to hear these words ✨
When I feel like giving up, I remember someone is always watching and learning how I eat and how I take care of my body.
Self care isn't limited to just me. My kids see what I do and how important it is for me to take care of the body God has given me.
It makes me want to keep getting better and stronger for my family. And to show my kids to appreciate and love one each other for who we truly are.
Don't forget it's not just you that you take care of. Working out and eating healthy trickles down into all other aspects of our lives. And it's worth it!💕
Autumn walks with Snowy 😄💖 Yesterday I did absolutely nothing apart from go on this walk, and it was AMAZING! I think it's important to have a do-nothing day every so often to recharge your batteries 💕 Today I plan to wander around town, get some fresh air, and treat myself to an almond latte ☄☁️😋 For the 4th time this week 🙈😂 What have you done this weekend to unwind? #autumn
I hear this ALL the time- 😟"I'd love to join your event but I don't have the time." 😔"I don't have time to workout."
☹️"It's too expensive."
😯"My kids are involved in so many things, I could't find the time."
😧"I can't spend that much money on myself, I'd feel selfish."
😕"Maybe when my kids are (in school, older, not so busy, not so needy, etc.)" These are the reasons I hear most from people who wish to join, wish to change their lives, wish to start their fitness journey, these are the reasons they "just can't." But the reality is, these "reasons" are fixable! It's not a matter of time, it's a matter of shifting your thinking.
Let's be clear here. YOU count. YOU are worth YOUR time. YOU are worth fighting for. Give yourself the gift of fitness. Give yourself something that is just for you. It doesn't make you a bad mom, dad, wife, husband, it makes you a BETTER you!! If you have come to this realization and are ready to make tomorrow the day you choose YOU, reach out to me!
My new challenge starts next week- will you put yourself in it? 🤔

Just let it go.. The more we try to control something, the more it controls us.
Free yourself and let things take their own natural course. You will surprised at how amazing life is when you choose to trust the process and come from a place of love and light.
Yesterday is gone - you can't control what happened. Tomorrow hasn't even happened - you can't control what is going to happen.
All we will ever have is this present moment and all we can do is to accept it and enjoy it. All there ever is and all there ever will be is this present moment and it is when we start to really live in the present moment that we can begin to make beautiful and lasting transformations that will touch the world around you.
You were not born to become a prisoner of your own thoughts. You were born to thrive, live and grow lovingly.
So learn to accept things as they are and you will be at peace and you will be free. I believe in you.
🎈PLEASE READ : This is your Sunday reminder that, in spite of all the bs we are fed on a daily basis, happiness - or rather lack thereof - is not a "choice" for many, many people. It's okay not to be okay, because some us can't help it, or just "snap out of it", as many would say.
However, this is also your Sunday reminder that, regardless of any mental illness, you can actually choose to focus on the positive things in life. ♡♡♡
My happy moment of the weekend was going furniture shopping with my boyfriend yesterday, without (almost) any anxiety from any of us. Last night, I could drink more than a glass of wine without experiencing dark thoughts and panic (which had been occuring a lot for about a year).
What is your happy moment of the weekend?
Happy Sunday lovelies.
