I was lucky enough to go to the International Championships last week both at Brentwood and the Royal Albert Hall. The reason why I am shocked is things have not moved on for 20 years! It's the same as when Kate and I were competing. Dancers at the food counters eating rubbish! Ordering sausage rolls, chips, crisps, sandwiches, sweets and chocolate!!!
Thousands of pounds are spent throughout the year on lessons, practice, travelling and your outfits but when it comes to fuelling your bodies on competition day I see Dancer's eating crap....
Is it lack of knowledge or laziness?
Think about it logically, the timetable can start first thing in the morning and you are expected to continue right through to the evening. If you don't fuel your bodies correctly how can you expect to perform at your best?
Just a little bit of knowledge and preparation is all it takes to take your bodies to the next level. If you don't invest in learning the correct way to eat especially on a competition day what is the point in spending out all your money on the other stuff?
