This is the first time I've done a Kintsugi piece with silver. Up until tonight I've done my pieces with brass because it's inexpensive and doesn't matter so much if I mess up. I bought this tiny packet of silver powder, applied it over red lacquer, and now there are shiny blush pink veins since the silver didn't seem to fall into the lacquer and fill as well as the brass did. I don't know if they'll stay blush pink but if it does I won't be too upset - when I started this vase ages ago I thought that the flower that might go best with this vase would be fluffy pink flowers like roses or peonies or something so I think pink Kintsugi would be charming, too.
Wished I could have camp there. Realised that next time I visit Iceland I am not going to have all accommodation pre-booked. Will take camping gear and if there won't be any rooms there will be option of setting up a tent. Right now feeling like my freedom is constricted by my earlier hotel bookings. And yes, on third day here I am already thinking of next visit!
