I was recently asked why my site isn’t titled, “Mommy Has Successes.” To which I replied, the new blog and podcast will be all about the struggles of motherhood. And sure, sometimes those struggles turn into mini parenting successes, but many times they don’t. And I think what’s most important is to know we’re all doing our best, we’re all trying our hardest, and we just want to know it isn’t just shiny happy moments on social media—because those moments aren’t always real. And let’s face, those non-stop happy and styled moments can feel depressing if we’re always surrounded by those that appear to be doing it better and with less effort. And so, I firmly believe if we want to share the positive, then we need to stop buffering, stop hiding, and start sharing the bad with the good. After all, even my dinner will attest that we all have struggles—some a little more serious and pressing than others 🦀 #mommyhasstruggles

::: REND THE HEAVENS :::⠀⠀
Much to the devil’s dismay, she discovered it was quite an easy thing opening her heavenly father’s house-of-goodies. After all it went where she went, and she went where it went. And then there was that secret password she knew, and a warm welcome each time she used called. Irresistible really. #rendtheheavens#comedown

So amongst this years projects are “Let Us Age Jen Backwards.” I realize this doesn’t quite fit into my feminist ideal. However, I challenge you to reach 40 and not begin to strategize as to how to keep your face from ending up down by your kneecaps. Vanity aside, I’ve finally ventured into Young Livings skincare and, I BELIEVE (insert praise hands). It’s nearly stupid how good it is. And this from a product snob. So this month I blew through some ER points and added these two to the stockpile. The serum because if I don’t have to DIY, blessings upon you, and the eye cream as that seems to be necessary for a woman of my advanced years. I expect to look 25 by next week or so.

Day 17 of #21daysinmyartworld . Yesterday was about my smallest painting, today the largest. Here is “Dancing In The Light,” currently in Arts Off Main Gallery in Vancouver. 36x48”, 122x91cm, acrylic on canvas. This originally was in a horizontal orientation and in reds and black. However, it seemed to lack a focal point for the eyes. Eventually, I took it off the wall and went back in to the painting. Because this is an intuitive painting, it was akin to consciously immersing myself back into a dreamscape, at the point in the story where I had left off, and moving forward and painting from there. At least that is how it seemed to me. It took some tries to get the knack of doing this. And It was when I was getting close to completing this piece for the second time that I discovered that it wasn’t a horizontal piece after all, but a vertical one. Who knew? It’s just recently gone back up on the gallery wall and this time it really is finished! 🎨✨
“If you want to have clients to stay long with you, practice excellence in your work… Your clients deserve that.” Quote from Episode 107 Freelance Blend Podcast
This is true indeed for Liberty Baldovino, the person behind The Youthful Granny VA blog.
Her blog name is an apt description of what she is: she is youthful, a granny to 3 grandkids, and a virtual assistant for 5 years.
