Growing up my Mom made it a priority to eat together as a family as much as possible. It was a time to slow down, gather round the table and share our day (good, bad and even the ugly.) A meal that was Made At Home mattered to her. It's a tradition that definitely was passed onto me.
She kept her homemade meals creative and she was incredibly gifted at not wasting food. She could turn leftovers into the most delicious Take 2 Meals. Like this Easy Braided Chicken Bake made using @Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Recipe 👉🏻 http://bit.ly/2qGZfTl
Using Crescent rolls as the base you'll just add leftover chicken a few other basic ingredients that you probably have already, braid and bake.
It's easy to bring family time back into the home and center it around good fresh food. Go ahead and set the table, this meal will be done before you know it!
There is nothing better than a delicious meal on the table in less than an hour for your family to come together around for dinner! @Pillsbury #ad#PillsburyMadeAtHome
When it’s 38 degrees outside all you want is some good ole comfort food... so I made Chicken Pot Pie! I didn’t have a pie dish to make the pie but I altered the recipe and made a casserole but tasted just like a pie! Recipe is below: • 1 rotisserie chicken • 2 pillsbury crescent rolls- spread out
• 2 cans low sodium condensed soup mix • 1 cup water • 2 Teaspoons poultry seasoning • 12 oz of frozen or fresh carrots, peas, mushrooms, etc.
• 2 cups organic hash brown like potatoes • olive oil, salt and pepper • chopped onion
• In a large pan, cover pan with olive oil and sauté onions. Once that is cooking preheat oven to 350 and spray 11x13 pan. Spread 1 tube of crescent roll on bottom of pan. Bake for 20 min or until golden brown. • Add shredded chicken, vegetables, water and potatoes to pan and cook on high for 5 minutes. Add condensed chicken soup and seasonings to pan or pot. Once simmered, take out baking dish from oven and let cool. •Pour mixture evenly on top of cooked dough. • Take the other tube of crescent rolls and spread evenly on top. Bake for 25 minutes and let cool. ENJOY!!
📝 @honeysucklewhite lemon garlic turkey tenderloin, @krogerco’s beefsteak tomatoes with a lemon pepper @progresso panko bread crumb mixture (see previous post), and @pillsbury crescent rolls📝
🛒I think from now on, I’ll start tagging where I get my ingredients from and explaining more. Definitely could have put the tenderloin on a top rack to get a little more color on there, but man, that marinade was so good and the tenderloin was so tender. Got it on sale at @krogerco for $5 off the original price. And like I always say, you can cheat on some parts of your meal and do semi-homemade. @pillsburybaking crescent rolls are an easy 10 min away!🛒
I’m mixing up the order of the #raisinglifelonglearners photo prompts and making today our #cooking day (since we cooked 😉). So, Day 13 is Cooking verses “Over Heard” (though I did overhear a few cute things today). Today has been declared Janumerry and, per the request of the holiday’s creator, we are dining on chicken, mini spinach quiches with ricotta and bacon, and together we made a no-bake peanut butter pie for dessert. In true “cooking with children” fashion we got distracted and forgot the cream cheese...we didn’t need it. It was delish!! She decided today that Janumerry will always fall on the first snow of every January. I ❤️ the idea of a holiday that’s just for our family. I can’t always humor all her whims but given the coziness of the snowed in state of the household, and the fact that we had everything we needed for the dishes, today seemed like the perfect day to indulge her and make such a decadent dinner and dessert for her holiday.
Used #crescentrolls to make little stuffed things. They came out a little burnt, but they were okay.
Did 3 spinach ones with: garlic salt, oregano, basil, thyme, and parmesan cheese
Did 2 BBQ chicken: just leftover shredded chicken and BBQ sauce
Did 2 roast beef with: #parslysagerosemaryandthyme , garlic salt
Did 1 pear: with vanilla, chocolate balsamic vinegar, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger
Cheezy Pigs in a Blanket 🐽 with @lightlifefoods vegan sausage and @fieldroast Chao slices! And did you guys know that that @pillsbury crescent dough is vegan?! 😮 I only found out yesterday and instantly set my heart on veganizing this childhood favorite. ❤️
