Gods mercy, kindness, forgiveness, unfailing promises, and love.
Those are all the things I felt as the warm sun came across my face and I tried to soak it in. And soak in what message it felt like God was trying to tell me.
Today was one of many days in this current season of my life that I've felt overwhelmed and riddled with anxiety.
As I was driving I just felt like my chest was tight. I wasn't sure what my next move was going to be and as I'm trying to plan how to overcome all of this I felt the warmth of the sun. And what I've been feeling like gods been saying to me for weeks now felt more clearer than ever. Katie, BE STILL.
Be still? God how can I be still? Do you not see all the things I need to do? To be successful and to be able to do your work and to share your story and your love. As a nurse, as a missionary, as a friend, as a daughter, as a sister.
This is what my thought process has been. But today was different.
The warmth from the sun just soothed me. Made my mind less cluttered and I just felt it. Katie, BE STILL. So luckily I was a minute from the house when this happened and just got out of my car and sat there in that sun with my eyes closed and let God speak to me.
Be still and trust in me, be still and take time for me, be still I miss your quiet time, be still I miss our conversations.
What kind of godly example am I when I am an overwhelmed, anxiety ridden, hot mess. That's not who I want to be. I want to show people who look to me how trusting in God FULLY can give you peace, give you strength, absorb your anxieties.
Now I'm not saying Christians don't worry or get anxious or fearful. But I am saying that today I learned a lesson. When I am incapable of living out my day to day due to these emotions I need to BE STILL. And know that he is god who loves me, takes my burdens from me, takes my anxiety from me because.. he cares for me. My God loves me. And he hears me, little old me. He cares about every thought and emotion I have.
If you've made it this far hopefully you've taken something from this. I just thought couldn't we all take a little more time in our lives to be still and be in the moment he created for us.

Preparation is Key 🔑
I always meal prep on Sundays so all my meals are in order for the week!
Here are some tips to make it easy:
-Make a grocery list on your phone.
-Have a plan to know exactly what meals you'll eat for the week.
-Stick to your list then junk won't end up in your cart.
-Dedicate 2 hours a week for grocery shopping and prepping your food.
-Flex while your cooking 😂
-If your telling yourself you don't have time, I call BS. You are not prioritizing your time right.
Do it for that "we made it" moment.
Grind hard for that awesome moment, that moment when you look back and you feel proud of yourself and your team.
Now is the time for you to start and stop procrastinating if you want to achieve your goals and if you want to look back and say "we made it".
As I transition my lettering business from part-time to full-time (2 weeks to go!), I am learning how important it is to live by this saying. "Work smarter, not harder," has been a phrase on repeat in my head every time I start focusing too long on things that actually don't require much attention and when I over analyze a piece (or the contents of my book) because there's always something that can be tweaked. I am slowly learning to let go and achieve excellence without the burden of perfectionism. (What a weight off my shoulders that will be!) Who's with me?! #laurenibachlettering
While there is the unknown factor of what each day has in store for us, we do have the power on how we react to what happens. It could be positive or negative. Whichever it is try your bag to stay positive with a smile on your face. It's contagious.
Don't spend your day feeling like everyone is out to get you pull the "this always happens to me." Chances are this is going to make you feel negative - which doesn't do any of us any good. Amiright?
If you spend your making the best out of any situation that happens, your day will be that much better.
Give yourself 1-2 minutes to be upset about something that didn't go your way and then move on. Don't dwell on it and allow it to ruin your entire day.
