Sunday night feels. Busy day on self reflection working out what im wanting to do my goals for next year. Which mountain I will climb this week you know 🧐 all the important stuff. How I’m going to survive going to work and seeing my boss after she lost her shit with my resignation 😐... Aaaah but a new week and I’ll be reducing my debt further down and hopefully hear back about jobs I applied for. #gonebarefoot#barefootinvestor#debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#nodebtby2020
Trying to get back into a routine. Summer nights = bbq and light meals. Plus I’m over being fat and need to get for for fertility 😂 dinner under $6per person and soooooo goooood !! Love Lamb + All the salad in the world 😂😂😂 #fitforfertility#fitspo#fitfam#frugaldinner
My desk is F I N A L L Y done!!! 😍 While most of you loved the uniqueness of the uneven stain job, I couldn’t stand it. I tried to like it, but I knew it would bug me every time I looked at it. Then @mrs.217 suggested that I white wash the wood. She explained what it was and I immediately researched it. Half chalk paint/half water, apply, and wipe it off before it dries. I was nervous when I started applying the paint, but it turned out better than I ever expected! •
A huge thank you to Josh and his stepdad for making this happen! They put in a lot of work and made sure the desk looked good. We’re going to cover the screws. Other than that, it’s finished! Time to finish hanging everything up and organize! I’m having a glass or two of wine to celebrate. ☺️🍷 •
Last week was a VERY tough both physically and mentally week and not to mention CRAZY busy. We had our first IUI fertility treatment which meant daily ultrasounds, needles and medication. Throw into the mix a trade in on our car, a crazy busy week at work and then trying to stay on top of the general house work. Needless to say I have not mentally been with it. Did some Christmas shopping but used both cash and card, used some for the Christmas budget for eating out, bought some other bits and bobs which was NOT budgeted for and now feeling quite out of sorts and not motivated and to be honest lost with where my accounts are up too and what we bought / what we have left to buy. Groceries only cost $96.02 as hubby did most of it so at lest we have come in somewhat under budget for our weekly spendings. These weeks happen don’t they? Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh week so fingers crossed I can pick myself back up and soldier on. We will be getting our cash back this week for the trade in on the car and at least have enough food to get us through to Wednesday so don’t need to make any trips to the supermarket. #igotthis#debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#debtisdumb
There are many things the Mr. and I are on the same page about. One of them is giving. We feel so blessed with what we have that it didn’t matter we were on our debt free journey we still wanted to give offering to our church along with our tithe. *
Because of where our church is located we knew the church could use the offering to help the community because we had attended for a while and saw all they were doing. We felt compelled to give a specific amount each month. When we calculated out how much that would be over a year we realized we were pushing back our debt payoff date by 1 month. *
We were ok with that because we had seen how the offering blessed others and we knew we enjoyed helping others anonymously. So we agreed and have given and the blessings that we have received from giving on top of tithe totally outweigh anything we thought we would be giving up. It has been amazing to see how we’ve been blessed because we wanted to bless others. *
We are excited to be debt free in two weeks because we know we’ll be able to give more. It feels good to give. It truly does. If you feel compelled, listen, and give. You’ll see the returns in other ways.
Husband needed a new windscreen wiper ($16), then we got Red Rooster for lunch ($10) then Maccas choc sundaes for dessert ($8). Not beating myself up because we are still $25 under our weekly budget with no more expenses required for the week and we came $40 under our grocery budget. BUT! After a week of impulsive spending it’s time to get back on the wagon 🚗 we aren’t normally like this but we’ve had our fun (well it’s mostly been me making the purchases anyway so I should say I’VE had MY fun) and it’s time to get back to being sensible. May your week be full of saving $$$ and no frivolous spending! #debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#debtfreeaf#debtisdumb#budgetlife#financialfreedom 💵💵💵
Ditch the paper towels. I cut out using paper towels and paper napkins years ago. I don’t miss them one bit. It saves me money too. I use towels small towels that I get for free from work. You can also use older wash clothes or cut up old shirts to use as rags. If the clean up is really gross then it’s cool to throw the rag away.
So over the last week, I have bought 7 Christmas toys for my kids. Today was Targets 25% off toys sale. Got my receipts and went in for a price adjustment and got back 50.00 (which meant each kiddo had an extra 10.00 in their gift budget). Then I finished everyone’s Christmas present shopping except the babies highchair and jumper (which I have 50.00 set aside to go to Once Upon A Child next week to buy). I then saved another 58.00 at checkout with today’s 25% off toy sale and my 5% redcard (debit red card) savings. My goal is to be completely done by Wednesday!! Christmas shopping is seriously so much easier when it is cash flowed!!! When the money is gone, it’s gone and no temptation to buy just one more 🎁! #debtfree#debtfreejourney#daveramsey#christmasshopping
Moms really do have magic powers👌🏻. 5 years old & I still have the ability to rub his head & put him to sleep in 5 minutes flat.
When I was a kid I hated sleeping alone. I had terrible nightmares frequently & still do from time to time. It’s why I don’t watch violent or scary movies🙈. Cameron is the exact same way & Braedan is getting tired of having his little brother in his room. I told Cam he needed to sleep in his own room but I would lay down with him.
Bam💥. Out like a light. Magic powers. Moms are fierce! #boymom 💙
Made some BBQ jackfruit tacos tonight! So easy! Just caramelize onions in butter, add canned jackfruit and mix in BBQ sauce until heated through. We topped ours with purple cabbage, bell peppers, avocado, cheese, lime juice, and cilantro. 😍
Today was our doggy grooming day. While I know we're trying to pay debt off this is one area I can't scrimp on. Our two maltipoos are our babies. ❤️ When I put the budgeting line in for the dogs it includes: vet, groomers, food, toys for the babies. I could save slot if we groomed them ourselves. We tried three times and they never looked very good. So what's in your budget for your pets? #debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#itsadogslife#budget#cashisking
Benefit of working in your home office (aka spare room catch all with a table and a computer 😂👌) instead of a brick and mortar? ..... You don't have to worry about judgment of your music. Green day it Is! 🙃😜
We were going to go out for date night but really needed to stay in & prep for Thanksgiving.
So I made dinner in. If date night counts as 🏈college football🏈 & your children going “Mom...Mom...Mom” in your ear!😂 P.S. I have to 😏 finish this bottle of wine before the holiday to make room for the sangria I’m making. #goals 💪 🍷#meatandpotatoes
So here is the deal! 😑 While balancing the check book this morning I felt overwhelmed and here is why. Everything was ok according to our plan; We had our bills cover, our monthly cash allowance, our sinking funds, we are well on our way to building our $1000 dollars emergency fund and even put money towards paying some debt for the month of November. So why did I felt overwhelmed... everything is moving along just fine, Right? Right?! Wrong!..Soon after I made the transfer to our sinking funds and the Instagram post bellow, a dark cloud came over me. I felt bad because the burden of debt is still there even though everything is in order and we are making progress; The debt overshadowed the happiness I felt of having our sinking funds in place. When my husband came home I share this with him, we both agreed that even though is good we are trying to balance all aspects of our lives while paying our debt maybe doing so would slow us down. So we decided to put everything on hold... everything! As you know we won’t move anymore, we won’t give each other Christmas gifts, and now my husband won’t go to school, no vacations sinking fund and not going back home for a while (sorry dad) 🤧 This sucks, Debt sucks, and we just want it gone!! As soon as our conversation was over I transfer our sinking fund money to our emergency fund account to complete the $1000 dollars emergency fund, hubby dropped his classes for next semester, and money is going towards debt. We did increased our cash allowance $100 dollars more, but other than that our plans are officially on paused until this is all over. Who would have thought?! 🤭 #debtfreejourney

Another thing on our to do list once our student loans are paid off! My hubby looked at wisking me off to NYC for a weekend to see my favorite Christmas musical. But of course we have $0 in the budget or the bank account for that. So he found a great work around! They had a one night showing of the musical at our theater- $20 Date vs a couple hundred $$! Here’s to many many weekend getaways when we’re debt free! 🌎🌍🌏
