Time flies. Life is what you make of it. Everyday is a day of opportunity. Think it. Seek it. Find it. Live it. slight throwback to my first time visiting the cape 🌊👌🏾 summer 17 was good to me. Kicked it off with my bday in D.C., visited Vermont & the poconos too, plus chance concert + rock climbing + Yankees game + rafting for the first time. And of course eating good 😎 But the best part was the friends n family I experienced it all with ❤️ appreciate doing the little things with the people who matter!

I.am.tired! 😭 I wanted to try this like 10 more times but I just can't. Here is my half hearted attempt at dancing...More like me just being silly. ( Insert snaps and the Carlton) 😂😂 I will admit that the more I do this, the more comfortable I'm becoming. Definitely do not feel the anxiety of the first day which is such a win for me!! Didn't even get scared in front of the hubby tonight 🙌 I have made him leave the room a few times so I could dance alone. 😂 Thank you to the incredible hosts for this awesome challenge group for supporting me and giving me such kind comments that put me at ease! So much love to you all!! 🙏💕🤗 With that, I bid thee adieu! Night IG! 😴😴😴
I remember the first time I tried this pose. The instructor was a guy with really built arms and clearly lots of upper body strength. He demonstrated the pose with such ease, and I thought "oooookay sure, not gunna happen for me, I have no upper body strength but good for you." I tried the pose, fell, laughed, and moved on with practice. Before coming to @corepoweryoga, before committing fully to my yoga practice, I had never thought of myself as a very strong person, especially not in my upper body. I had always been concerned with being skinny, not strong. But I kept taking class, I took Teacher Training and learned correct form, and little by little (sometimes quicker), my body changed. I got muscles in places I never had before. I learned I loved backbends and was more flexible in them than I could have predicted. It was such a joy, discovering all the poses for the first time, and enjoying the challenges and triumphs they all held. No, yoga isn't about the poses. It's about a lot more. As you find your strength in Crow Pose, you might find more inner strength off the mat. But the poses, man they're fun. They are such a great entry point to discovering yourself but also to just playing, and being in your body. I love all the deeper layers of the practice, but sometimes I like to just remember the simple joy of each pose, of each muscle and bone, of being connected to this physical form I get to live in.
I'm not even gonna lie - it's been a month since I've been to the gym but I was busy making my heart happy and needed a well deserved break. I'm back! I didn't give it my all my gave it something and that's all that matters. Till next time. #dowhatmakesyouhappy#gymtime#gymlife#vsglife#vsgcommunity
Cause it's not about the selfies.
It's not about the progress pictures.
and it's not about proving others wrong.
It's just you and the weights.
Just you vs. you.
There is no easy way out.
It's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears type stuff.
It's self discipline.
It's realizing the only way out is through.
It's "I can be better than this" and not stopping til you get there.
And it's a whole helluva lot of not giving up on yourself. 🖤
Love the reflection of the clouds in the water. So grateful for this beautiful sunny day in September.☀️☁️☁️☁️

The parts of you, you hold back could be the key to getting what you want.
You've spent years perfecting the version of you that's got you this far.
She's the one everyone comes to when they don't know what to do...
She's an amazing wife/mother/girlfriend/employee/boss...
She's warm & accepting....
She Knows something's missing, but she's decided that's how life is. No one has it all. You have to make do.
So, you make do, you smile & you convince yourself that it's fine.
I was amazing at convincing myself that I could be ok with fine. I did it for years until 1 day I couldn't do it anymore. I had no desire to do it anymore. I was tired of rejecting a big part of me so I could have a life that looked good but made me miserable.
I had always made the "right" choice. I went to college. I married the guy. I was the over achiever. Perfectionist. The employee who would cancel plans to work last minute. I did all the things that were supposed to make me happy & successful. I didn't feel like either.
Maybe you've felt this too.
GOOD! The first step to figuring out what you want is recognizing what you don't.
I decided if I took all the energy I was using to create the perfect version of me & used it to create a #lifeilove , I could make it happen a whole lot faster.
So I stopped trying to hide everything about me that I thought wasn't good enough or was too different. And I figured out all those things actually worked for me. They helped me figure what I wanted & they helped me get it faster.
Ready to create a life you actually want to be living?
Make a list of all the things in your life that you don't want there.
Make another list of what you do want(Get creative, no limits).
Finally make a list of things about you that you've been holding back.(creativity, saying no, coloring your hair, writing, what you like to watch & read).
Once you have your lists, ask yourself how the parts of you you've been holding back can help you get what you want.
Want help creating the stuff on your want list?

Guyyysss. 😍 Treated myself to a massage tonight and the whole time, it was like my muscles were like "hey, thank you for noticing us finally!!" ▪️ Lucky for us, self-care is trendy these days but how often do you really take advantage of it? ▪️ Sometimes “Me Time” is considered Selfish. But I wholeheartedly believe we can't give to others if our own cup is dry. Consider too that we get so consumed with other people’s needs that we completely ignore our own. We all do our best to balance people & responsibilities, but forget to schedule time with ourselves. ▪️
Know this now and take it to ❤️: there's nothing wrong with taking time for yourself. Turn down that invitation if you need a night in, create space for your favorite hobby, and just. Be. You.
Ok so in keeping with the doing of the things that bring you joy, I came home from work and told my family we were going to the beach!
Just booked a long weekend for Kenzie's birthday next month at a gorgeous state park on the beach 🌊 in the Florida panhandle and I am shooting rainbows 🌈 and unicorns 🦄 and sun ☀️ beams everywhere
It is true you should definitely do the things in life that bring you joy. Money does not by you happiness but it can buy you things or experiences that make you happy and this is definitely one of those things!#happier2017#livelifehealthy#dowhatmakesyouhappy#happyhappyjoyjoy#thebeachismysoulmate
