Forced myself to take a little break from work and social media this past week. I firmly believe that my job is the greatest thing ever, but it gets so so stressful and all-consuming when you neglect taking breaks. I've barely gone a full weekend without working this whole year, and that's never a good place to be. Starting over, I'm focusing more on healthy habits(aka actually having a life outside work), sleeping more that 5 hours a night, and worrying less about being perfect and getting all those sweet likes. I didn't become an artist to become insta-famous, after all. I got into it because painting is my favorite thing in the whole world, and I need to find my way back to that. I can't remember the last time I painted something solely for the fun of it, and that's a huge problem. (I'm sure some of you can relate.)
Meanwhile posts may change or be less frequent, and I encourage you to unfollow if you're not happy with that. -
During my brief absence we passed 70k, which is fucking insane. Thank you so much for your support 💜 Your kind words always make me feel better when I'm unhappy with my art.
Okay, ramble over (^: thank you for reading, I hope it made sense. (This painting is the last commission of the previous batch. Will reopen in a couple of weeks!)
Yesterday was a stressful day at work so I am HOPING today is much better! Yesterday I was also able to finish Island of Glass and it was such a great read! For Roberts fantasy/romance reads I have always enjoyed them! I am not entirely sure if I will ever read her romance reads since those are not really my type, but who knows?
I started this morning Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore and I am hoping it's a great read too since I havent DNFed any book this month and I want to keep it on a roll!
Do you DNF books or do you always try and push yourself through books no matter what?
