Feminism is the @merriamwebster word of the year and the most searched word in 2017.
And yesterday in Alabama, truth, basic human decency and democracy won, thanks to black women 🖤
There's so much more work to be done (like, A LOT) but this goes to show we should NEVER give up. Together we can accomplish ANYTHING!
But more importantly, this is an important reminder that we need to trust, follow, hire, elect and support black women 🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽

Two years ago I didn't even get a response to the application I sent into Chatham House for one of their internships. Today, the Centre for @feministforeignpolicy co-hosted a breakfast meeting on gender and international affairs alongside Chatham House and the British American Security Information Council. ☕️🎉Rejection is just a nudge toward where we should be. (Also can we take a sec to appreciate that an org like Chatham House was up to cohost an event with a feminist organisation?! We are tearing down those patriarchal structures one think tank at a time 💥)
About the obstruction: many black voters who had been active were marked as inactive at the stations, forced Togo through many extra tests to validate their ability to vote.
