Seems like everything I experience is musical in some way. I really enjoy jamming and reading any type of music. Something to take note of is the key of the song or the piece. Harmonizing or reading random pieces of music is the key to truly learning. Not looking the shit up on YouTube, but truly learning it. I appreciate patience
Étude in D-sharp minor, Op. 8, No. 12 (Scriabin) features on the LRSM diploma ABRSM
Finally I have a few minutes between teaching and ABRSM work to try this out. I’ve only spent about 7 hours on this Etude over the last 3 weeks and I am happy with its progress so far. Some days I could only get 5 minutes work done on it, so it surprised me how quickly it came under the fingers, although admittedly it still has plenty of work needed!
This piece was a particular favorite encore of Vladimir Horowitz and a crowd favourite, so for many years I put off learning it. But since taking the challenge to learn everything by Scriabin I couldn’t put it off any longer! And I am glad I did, I absolutely love it! and cannot wait to see where it goes. In this video I am slightly pulling back on our old Ronisch as I recently broke a few keys on it. Unfortunately being so old it just can’t take so much pressure and I was warned that the keys couldn’t be replaced once broken 😕
Last night, Royal Albert Hall celebrated the 50th birthday of one of the most prolific film and TV composers of our time, Michael Giacchino. The fantastic gala featured music and film clips from movies such as Jurassic World, Star Wars, Rogue One, War for the Planet of the Apes, Lost, Alias, Up, The Incredibles, the upcoming Disney's 'Coco,' as well as personal film clips. Michael was joined on stage by a few of his friends and colleagues, who shared intimate and amusing stories. Among them were J.J. Abrams (Mission Impossible: 3, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, Super 8), Carlton Cuse (Lost), Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out), Gareth Edwards (Rogue One), Andrew Stanton (John Carter) and Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World). The evening was hosted by Myth Busters' Adam Savage and the concert was conducted by Ludwig Wicki and Giacchino himself. 🖤 #concert#composer#filmscore#film#michaelgiacchino#michaelgiacchinoat50#royalalberthall
"The mic sounds nice!" This right here's a throwback to my studio intern days. Always wanted an MXL gold 35 ever since. On the cheaper end MXL is a little meh but the more you pay the better their mics get for sure!
New video! This is the Mombasa theme from Inception by @hanszimmer
For this video I got my drums professionally mixed by @jessekirkbride so the sounds quality is awesome. If you want to watch the full video, the link is in my bio. Hope you enjoy!
Here’s a guitar lick I added onto the Edm style track I posted yesterday. Link in the bio, follow up my soundcloud for more content✌🏼 let me know what you guys want to hear more of! #guitar#edm#filmscore#composer#logicprox
Starting off my Saturday right, with @johncarpenterofficial new Anthology album. After seeing him live, it changed my perspective on live performances. Some could say this album is just what we’ve already heard as fans, for years. I feel the opposite in the fact that this album perfectly captures the sound and feeling of their live performances. Even though I adore the new material they came up with for the Lost Themes albums, this album is extremely well done and a welcome addition to his discography. #johncarpenter#johncarpenteranthology#nowlistening#filmscore#filmscores#horror#horrorfan#epicfilmguys#cinephilecommunity
