Potato Chips VS. Sweet Potato Chips 🥔🍠#caloriefixes
The plan wasn't to eat 100g of Sweet Potato chips but, it kinda happened.. by snaccident🙊 "Snaccident" (n). Eating an entire pizza/family sized bag of crisps by mistake - actual Google definition🙈 ⠀ OK, so SP Crisps are good - it was my first time having them as previously I've only tried the vegetable crisps which are "OK" but I find they have a weird taste tbh. ⠀ Sweet potato crisps are moreish and delicious (as I learnt today💁🏻).
However, as I looked at the calories and macros (100g for each shown), I couldn't help but think that actually, 'normal' crisps would of been pretty much similar (and for some BETTER macros). ⠀ This post isn't saying eat this or that; it's a look at the differences between the two - which may be surprising for some of us (including me 🙋🏻who only checked the macros 500 calories later😂). ⠀ Some of us would definitely think, "I will go for the SP chips- it IS sweet potato, after all so it must be alright". But, I would say when it comes to snacks like crisps or chips you can't really rely on them to get your 5-a-day. The benefits for choosing one of these fried foods or the other is going to be pretty low. Sure there are some nutritional differences with Potatoes having more Vitamin B6 and SP having more Vitamin A and a better GI value.. but, I personally don't rely on snacks like this for my daily nutrients! Alright - full honesty here. I've been a little down on myself lately and have fallen back in to old habits. Normally I am one of those people that always waits till a new week or a new month to start something.. but I am trying to break habits here! So TODAY I am once again recommitting to my goals to be healthier and stronger! 💙

Remember to always visualise those gains 😂. Just wanted to take a moment for all the gym buddies out there. Joel and I have been training for a while now and I wanted to spread the ❤️. Gym buddies are awesome, they don't let you quit when you can't be bothered to squeeze that final deadlift in. They also join you in dancing (questionably) when a tune comes on in the gym, because lift is too short to be taken too seriously. There may not be a massive noticeable difference to look at here BUT what has improved is my fitness levels and confidence💪 In the first picture I had just started PT with @form_and_function_fitness because I felt so unfit and literally going up the stairs would make me feel out of breath 😂because I've always been quite small I never really thought I was unfit 💁 BUT your size doesn't determine your fitness levels ❌ Initially I lost about 5KG when I started weight training and I've gradually built up muscle and now I lie anywhere between 51-53KG... but the scales don't bother me anymore - I'm more interested in tracking my fitness by achieving new things in the gym - I can now deadlift almost double my body weight compared to just 25KG in the first pic 🙌 So it just goes to show, not all transformations are noticeable on the outside ☺️✨
