Alright so I hit legs with my amazing trainer today and he kicked my butt. It was great to be reunited. The burn was real.

After my morning work out I hit the slopes. I wanted to try something different than my normal this year so I picked up snowboarding... so far lots of falling BUT I'm slowly making my way down the mountain. I'll own the mountains soon enough.

It's never too late to try something new, this year is all about adding more dimension into my life. So far so good.

If you’ve recently started following me as your “#fitspiration” there’s a few things I want you to know 😉❤️

1️⃣ Abs don’t define you. I used to think they did two years ago and posted “#MorningAbs” thinking I was the bees knees and the spiders ankles 😂 
2️⃣ Social media can play a HUGE role in body dissatisfaction and I want to reverse that. 
3️⃣ Healthy DOES NOT have to be numbered. By the scales, by macros, by calories. Everyone is different and following what someone else does to a T, could really mess with you. Yes they are important for goals BUT not at the expense of your sanity 😉
4️⃣ Social media can cause anxiety. Looking at others “achievements” and receiving opinions day after day. #Throwback above to mini me six when it hit me in the nose and stripped away too much life. 
5️⃣ “Fitness” is the condition of being physically fit and healthy. It is not defined by a stage trophy (I tried this too😂), not by restriction, not big glutes (but I won’t say no to them), not by your weekly check ins. It’s your QUALITY of being able to fulfil life to its maximum. 
6️⃣ Weights are important. Plyometric work is important. Cardio is important. Vegetables are important. Donuts are important. Body composition is important. Diet is extremely important. Mental well-being in the most important. 
7️⃣ Oatmeal and Almond Butter. Bae. 
8️⃣ I eat a tomato every time I walk by a fridge (I will look in your fridge) 
9️⃣ I love experimenting with different exercises and training styles, just as much as I love making pretty food, and checking out nutritional information and stats.
🔟 I will do 7 chin ups this year. 😈

🎾Quick Med-Ball Workout🎾

⚾️Great for if you’re right for time or want a little metabolic conditioning finisher.
.
⚽️All you need is a Medicine ball and a wall or target for your wall balls. Suggested weight for guys is 20 lbs & 14 lbs for the ladies (can scale it up or down depending on your level)
.
🏀Wall Balls: Position yourself about an arms-length away from the wall. Hold the ball against your chest and go down to a full squat. Come back up fast to use your leg power to throw the ball up - aim to hit 9-10 feet high.

🏐Ball slams: Great stress reliever. Bring the ball up overhead in full extension and SLAM it down on the ground. Pick it back up in a squat and repeat!

🎾Overhead Lunges: Hold the ball in full extension over your head. Step forward or backward into a lunge position. Front knee should be at 90 degrees. Really press up into the ball. Keep your core tight and press the FRONT heel to come back up.

⚾️Russian Twist: Sit in a V (you can keep your feet on the floor to make it easier) Rotate the ball back and forth. It should hit the ground on each side. Try to do this one slowly and under control.

It was so nice out I decided to jog 3 miles to my Nonna's house to eat some Chinese food. However my heart was not too happy with that decision today. 
Last night I went out for some Portuguese food, had a few drinks, and smoked almost half a pack of cigarettes, it was a great night overall but i need to work on controlling my impulses. My avg heartrate for a 3 mile jog was way too high for my liking. Either way I won't let my bad habits keep me from my cardio.

On a brighter note, starting next week I will be getting coached by the one and only @run4prs.coachbenjacobs !! I can't wait, maybe he will get me to put the cigs down for good lol.

Finally got under 175lbs 💕 I definitely got teary-eyed when I weighed in at Weight Watchers this morning and the scale said 172.8lbs. I was SO happy!!!! I love having a weekly weigh in with AMAZING supporters at every meeting. It’s such a great experience at WW :) Happy Saturday! .

Ashamed, embarrassed, scared.  I didn’t want to share what was lurking in my mind with anyone, not even Morgan.

I’m someone who usually operates with my HEAD, not my heart.  I think about logic and facts, and I usually make life decisions around that.

But I knew I had to say something.  I couldn’t even really explain how I felt, aside from the fact that I knew I wasn’t living up to my full potential.  And that was wearing on me day after day.

I will never forget that walk with Morgan in the summer of 2015 where I finally opened up and admitted that I truly felt like there was more to life and I felt horrible for not feeling fulfilled with a thriving career, 3 amazing kids, a healthy marriage, and everything that life was supposed to be. 
In my heart I just that there was something more for me. 
That day was a turning point in our lives. Opening up to Morgan about the way I felt was a relief. I had to brave and ready to be put in my place. But I was respected and encouraged to go after my passion and create the life I felt I deserved. 
And here’s what I've learned...
Following your heart isn’t crazy. Taking risks provides so much growth. If you want it, you can have it. Fear is a bunch of BS that holds us back from everything. Waiting and holding your desires in doesn’t help. Thinking and almost doing doesn’t get you anywhere. 
What I didn’t know is that putting it out there and being brave would eventually transform everything for me.

It’s what got me doing something fulfilling on the side.  It’s what led Morgan  and I to overcome obstacles and transform our lives.  It’s what would make our relationship 100x stronger.  It’s what would lead me to connect with other high performing females who had those same thoughts and aspirations.

I’ve learned there is no right time. I thought by continuously going through the same motions I was protecting myself from judgement, but really I was limiting my ability to make my dreams come true. "The difference between people who make their dreams come true and those of us who don’t is just one thing: the courage to start and the discipline to keep going.” -Mel Robbins.

Sunday’s for a lot is a chance to sleep in and catch up with friends for brunch.... for me it’s a HIIT session followed by a post work out smoothie bowl before rushing off to work...adding in a couple of teaspoons of @superelixir and protein with blueberries, strawberries, coconut, banana, chia seeds and some paleo granola helping me get through the day!! First upper body workout since my cortisone shot earlier this week so I stuck with light weights and higher reps to help regain the strength in my wrist •• Isolated bicep curls are a great exercise to focus on building the bicep muscle. The hearts on the bowl say it all... a homemade chicken ‘fried’ rice, super easy, made with chicken breast, a couple of sliced bacon medallions, scrambled eggs, reduced salt soy sauce, and frozen peas. 
I contemplated no rice and adding extra veg, until I realised my fridge was a bit lacking in the veg department, so added 50g of cooked rice to give a little depth to the dish ❤️ Less time to make my own than the takeaway would do and so much more satisfying .

Imagine for me, if you will, that it is snowing. Not only is it snowing but you have also misplaced your shoes and socks. Luckily you have a pair of very warm gloves. The gloves are unfortunately too small to fit on your feet. Your bare feet are getting colder by the second! No problem; I do CrossFit and can walk on my hands. Crisis (and hypothermia) avoided!
