Burger goals 😍😍 #nofish

Weeks like this one remind me of how far I have really come. I am FAR from where I want to be (mentally & physically), but a photo popped up from five years ago of myself in a club where my shoulder bones are sticking out, and you can pretty much see the ribs on my back and the fur on my skin as my body tried desperately to keep me warm 🙅‍♀️ And on Thursday, I has this CRAZY delicious 'No Fish' burger @thecanberrafishshack WITH CHIPS. It has taken me five years, FIVE FUCKING YEARS to be able to eat chips and not feel like I'm worthless for eating them 🎉 .

Sorry for the long post, but for anyone who thinks they won't be able to eat chips (or chocolate, or bread, or any other fear food) again, there are brighter days ahead! I'll be hanging out for #transformationtuesday to post 😄😄 but this is a different kind of (mental) #transformation.

First sesh back at the gym today 🙏🏼 it was my last session on the first #ufbg 👏🏼 I had to change up the workouts quite a lot for my back though 😣 I can’t do back squats, lunges or any deadlifts for 6-8 weeks, so I had to do goblet squats and hip thrusts instead of back squats and deadlifts and I had to keep my reps high and weights lower, BUT I have officially finished the program yayyyyyyy 🎉 I did buy #ufbg2 but as I cannot do low rep high weight for a while or deadlifts and back squats, I am going to save this program for when I start bulking in 8 weeks and after I have fully recovered 💪🏼 so I will be starting the #strongandsexy guide for my recovery and last 8 weeks of my cut - looking to get those abs in time for the Arnold Classic expo in March 👌🏼

Inspired by @vegainsfood I felt like making humus today. I spiced it up the traditional one (chick peas, tahina, lime/lemon, garlic and water) with turmeric, pepper, salt and chili.

Spicy 🔥🔥🔥😳😄 It tasted great together with oven baked beet root and fried Tempeh covered with sesame seeds 😋

Didn’t make it to the gym as planned today. Life got in the way. And it’s okay. It happens. Happy to have been able to relax and unwind and then doing a quick at home workout. Today I decided to focus on arms. Practiced handstands. Did some turtles and attempted pushups while upside down and then did a simple arm circuit after! Thanks to @clichefitnessjourney for the nighttime motivation!

Towards the end of 2017.. I was all over the place. -
I started disliking my office job, feeling lazy, unmotivated, and lost. -
But towards the VERY end, drastic changes happened. -
I QUIT my job (so happy! Lol) and started volunteering at a Physical Therapy office and found a passion for it. 
Initially I wanted to do in person personal training, but then realized I wanted something MORE, and I found it. Who knows, maybe I will do in person personal training some day. Things always change!

I switched my studies in school from ACCOUNTING to PHYSICAL THERAPY lol WUUUUT. -
I encourage you to take a step, and make a change, I have never felt happier.

Although I’ve been working out and involved in fitness for 2 years now, it’s sure as hell been a rollercoaster. It’s taken me up to this point to experiment with different styles of nutrition, different styles of working out, listening to different people telling me “what will work best” and I’ve learned one thing. Everyone is DIFFERENT! Everyone’s body operates differently and fitness does NOT have a “one fits all” method. 
I’ve been really in tune with my body during this cut and finally found what works best for me.

How to be successful at getting fit!

- I know every fitness enthusiast says this, but it really is a lifestyle. Clean eating and exercising are not a temporary routine to adapt until we get where we want to be. It is something we do to make ourselves genuinely feel good and to be in good health. .
- find what you love. I personally hate running. You will never catch me running. I happen to love HIIT and moderate intensity training. I love weight lighting. I stick to that. Find what style of exercising you actually love whether that be CrossFit, dancing, running, etc. and stick with it! .
- eat food that tastes good! Nutrition is a HUGE aspect to being truly healthy and I know none of us want to eat plain brown rice and asparagus every day. That’s not how it has to be! I look forward to every meal I eat, and don’t feel the need to “cheat” since I never feel deprived! I love me some vegan tacos, date brownies, etc. which brings me to my next point
- limit eating out/ cook your meals at home. Meal prepping is the most efficient way to assure you have your food prepared without having to cook daily. Cooking at home allows you to control all variables of what your putting in your body. Most restaurants will add lots of butter and oils to meals (including salad), and something you may think is healthy, may be the exact opposite. Find a few staple meals that you really enjoy, and stick with it.

That being said, don’t hesitate to slide in my dm’s for any fitness advice at all. I’m not a master know it all, but I’ve learnt a lot along the way. Hopefully I can share something helpful with you💓

This is an exercise that personally I love as a cool down exercise. After a hard hit leg day, this exercise is awesome to just cool down and pump some blood through all those muscles I just beat the hell out of for an hour and a half. 
For me personally this exercise doesn’t contribute to more muscle tearing, but simply to help get rid of some extra lactic acid.
Try it for yourselves after a long leg day, you can do it with a barbell as well, it’ll have the same affects, just hole one end and have the other in your gyms type of holder and follow the same movement in this video!

✨This is a labor intense meal but it was SO worth it. And I must say I’m proud of myself for how well it all came together!✨⠀

These baked vegan Samosas are from the #chinastudy cookbook. Made with whole wheat flour and stuffed with yummy seasoned potatoes and peas. ⠀

some things i learned throughout my recovery:
.
. • a binge isn't a binge when you restrict
• listen to hunger cues as well as fullness cues
• respect your hunger cues
• bloating is human &i happens to everyone • everyone's hunger cues are going to be at different times, situations, as well as different food choices
• cravings are real whether savory or sweet • everyone's body type is different • you have a unique body type/shape
• fitness/recovery journey is a marathon, not a sprint • when restricting, your body goes into fight or flight mode which leads to "binge" meaning your body is in fear of not getting enough food again
• you have to trust your body and your body will trust you • intuitive eating can/may help prevent a "binge" as well as make recovery easier all together • enjoy the journey you are on
• there are going to be good days and bad days
• keep busy on bad days • talking/expressing feelings, emotions, thoughts w someone is/can be helpful and comforting

i hope when you guys read this that you start to realize these things throughout your recovery. the more you recognize, the easier recovery will be and the happier you will be with yourself .

I used to be SO dehydrated. Constantly. Like I would get dehydration headaches. I had this problem since I was little. One weekend, when my parents weren’t around, I completely forgot to drink any water for an entire weekend (!)(yes, it’s weird but it didn’t even occur to me). That’s actually when I learned where my headaches were coming from. And since then, I’ve still struggled... just because, as weird as this sounds, I often don’t enjoy drinking water. This isn’t the typical ‘why-I-love-shakeology’ statement BUT it has helped me SO much with hydration. I pour in the shakeology, 1/2 cup of almond milk, and add 6-7 cups of water. That way I’m sure to hit my 8-cups-of-water-a-day mark (along with the water I sip on throughout the day and during my workouts). I’ve consistently drank more than 8 cups of water daily for months now! And it has definitely boosted my energy level! I’ve never been this hydrated in my life! Stay hydrated folks!🙃💧

Well nowadays, I’ll still enjoy a bountiful cereal bowl every once in a while, but here is the 🔑: look for as little ingredients and as little added sugar as possible. Best case scenario you find a zero added sugar, one ingredient cereal, like the puffed grain varieties @arrowheadmills makes. Truth be told puffed kamut is my FAV. Then, load in some chopped fruit, non-dairy milk, nuts, seeds, that nut butter drizzle and a cinnamon sprinkle 🥜🥣

By the time I actually get to eat, my food was cold 😅 oh well anyways hot or cold I absolutely love this dish (Ramon thinks otherwise about my teriyaki 😏) ~Tempeh Teriyaki 🥡
•1 package tempeh sliced thinly •1/2 cup soy sauce
•2 tbsp brown sugar
•1 tsp grated ginger
•3 ginger cloves minced
•1 tsp red chili flakes
•coconut oil
In a frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of coconut oil on medium high heat. Fry up the sliced tempeh until they’re golden brown on both sides. Once cooked set aside. Next, add a little more coconut oil and sauté the garlic and ginger for 2 minutes stirring often. Add in the soy sauce, brown sugar and chili flakes and whisk (take this time to taste and adjust to your liking). Once it starts to thicken, add in the tempeh and mix around until it’s coated. Let cool down and you’re all set. Fry up the sliced tempeh until they’re golden brown on both sides. Once cooked set aside. Next, add a little more coconut oil and sauté the garlic and ginger for 2 minutes stirring often. Add in the soy sauce, brown sugar and chili flakes and whisk (take this time to taste and adjust to your liking). Once it starts to thicken, add in the tempeh and mix around until it’s coated. Let cool down and you’re all set. Sweet n smoky sweet potato friiieeessss 🍟💥 Yesterday it was so hot, and my boyf and I were craving fries so so badly. I really didn’t want to have to turn the fryer on, so all I wanted to do was drive to the shop and pick some up, buuuttt, we’re on a pretty tight budget at the moment so we decided suck it up and turn the air fryer on 🔥 and I guess it was for the best, I had some v v yummy sweet potato fries with cheesy sauce, and he had some normal potato fries, which he turned into nacho fries 👅
I’m hoping that today cools off a little, so I don’t melt as soon as I walk outside 😅🔥 .

I spent the day in school and studied afterwards and now I'm super exhausted🙈 I am seriously so happy that it's weekend even though I know I have a lot to do 😍 I now I'm a little late with my post today but I didn't have the time to do so earlier 😉 I still want to share these yummy sweet #dumplings with you 😊 so I hope you like the picture and have a wonderful evening ❤
With these dumplings I want to join @xanjuschx and @laurafruitfairy #plantproteinparty because they contain tofu which is such a good and delicious protein source 😍 it took me quite some time to figure out how to prepare it but once you've got the hang of it I promise you'll be in love 😁 what is your favourite plantbased protein source?👇
Dumpling recipe:
▫ Ingredients:
▪ 250g tofu
▪ 100ml plantbased milk or water
▪ pinch of salt
▪ 100g flour
▪ zest of 1 lemon
▪ sweetener of choice
▫ Instructions:
Blend the tofu with the liquid until smooth. Add in all the remaining ingredients and set aside for about half an hour to an hour. Then form balls and put them into hot (but not boiling) water and cook for 20-30min until they start swimming on top. Now you can either coat them with coconut shreds or with toasted breadcrumbs and cinnamon (like I did) but you can do whatever you want now 😊❤
