I seriously cannot wait to try this in a couple of days!!! I have always struggled back and forth with plant based (vegan) eating in terms of cravings mostly because I grew up with the typical American diet. One thing I can say for sure is it’s totally possible with intestinal fortitude, and honestly I feel so much better physically and mentally eating plant based!!! 🌱 who else is ready for #thanksgiving ? ✨🙋🏻♀️✨ 📸 by @yvonnesvegankitchen 🥧 check out her page for some awesome Inspiration and recipes! #yvonnesvegankitchenthanksgiving
Hello EveryBody 😊
😘 #lefunvaincra
Fitness has been a passion of mine but I wasnt consistent and was only hurting myself in the end but wasnt aware of that until I noticed I wasn't gaining anything so I changed my bad habit.
It only takes a second to make the decision to change something you dont like and once you change you'll never look back. This is my journey... .
The REAL (no bullshit) way to make progress towards your fitness goals!! 💪🏼
Okay so i’m going to tell you right now that there is no one product that is going to magically transform your body. Yes, certain supplements can help you reach your goals but only if you are using them correctly. The only 100% guaranteed way to ensure progress is to EDUCATE YOURSELF. And good news..... it’s free.
Yes, you can invest in a personal trainer who can design a customized workout and diet plan but if you’re a broke college student like me that might not be the most realistic option. Also, I think it is important to know WHAT and WHY you are doing these things. All you need to do this is the internet, just make sure you are getting your information from credible sources. One website that really helped me when I was starting out is www.bodybuilding.com they have articles to fit pretty much any workout/diet goals you may have and even provide specific exercises to include.
Another great resource for those of you who may not know how to correctly perform exercises is youtube. There are so many videos that do an amazing job at walking you through different workouts (@whitneyysimmons is one of my personal fav youtubers).
Lastly, before you even step foot in a gym I recommend having a PLAN. Do your research beforehand and you’ll see such a difference in your progress (work SMARTER not HARDER). Personally, I was going to the gym for about 1 year before I learned how to exercise effectively. I get quite a few DM’s asking for tips or advice on what you should be doing in your workouts and diet and I want to say that I am absolutely not an expert. You are better off looking for these answers online where there is an abundance of information on every topic. I hope some of these tips motivated you to do some research and create a plan to help you reach your goals 🤗❤️
Same(ish) pose different day....haters be hating. Really struggling at the moment with my personal life, however I am truly thankful for how amazing exercise makes me feel. The gym is my escapism from my thoughts, it's a place I can go just to sweat out my tears instead of have them running down my face. I will not let someone else cause me to feel detached from who i truly am all because they are selfish and deluded by their poor actions which not only affect him but also me too. . .
It's ok to be sad, but never allow that sadness to overtake your life and prevent you from being the person you love being and doing the things you love doing!! 👌❤
As a small girl I use to have insecurities about my arms being to muscular and I stopped lifting because I was afraid of getting too toned as a woman but I am back lifting and embracing my toned arms because #girlslifttoo .

Ask me how!!
A couple weeks ago I had a DEXA scan done to measure my body comp, and here are the results:
February (131lb) > November (128lb). Only a 3lb difference, but a huge difference in body composition #screwthescale :
⬇️ 7lb body fat (5%)
⬆️ 4lb muscle
The DEXA scan is considered the gold standard in measuring body composition and uses a low-level x-ray to measure your lean mass, body fat, and even bone density. What’s cool is that it tells you your body comp per body part (torso, right leg, left leg, etc)👌. It is wayyyy more accurate than the more conventional ways of measuring body composition, namely various scales that use bioelectrical-impedance, which have a lot of different factors that can skew the results. However, it is also more costly and less accessible to get done 🤷♀️
That being said, body composition is not something you need to, or should be measuring super regularly (unless you are a physique competitor). Getting a DEXA scan done every 6-12 months is a great way to measure your progress and make sure you’re heading in the right direction. It’s all about that long game 😉🙌🏼
Note: I was not unfit or out of shape in the first pic... Even though I had a little bit of extra body fat, I was still strong, happy and healthy. That being said, I was able to make changes to my body composition with a lot of hard work, small changes, and *consistency* 🔑. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish in another 9 months!
I'm just going to use this opportunity to remind myself that here and now is exactly where I need to be at. Because I forget about it all the time. Like all the time. I second guess myself all the time too.
But then I remind myself that more than a decade ago I came to this country not knowing how to speak English. I remind myself that at one point I was painfully shy and did not know how to socialize. I remind myself that not long ago, before I found my teachers and my tribe, I somehow instinctively knew to use a scarf to loop around my back foot wishing one day I can decode king pigeon. So it's okay that I have problems. They exist because I need to grow. Challenges are just the same as opportunities. They are two sides to the same coin. I am at where I need to be.
