Happy Sunday guys! Yesterday was quite an eventful Saturday! I managed to get a quick but effective workout in prior to all the festivities that happened yesterday. Did a full body circuit & ended on the stair master per usual. I was so dead, I was going to just do HIIT for 10 minutes, but my ass pushed to 15 & I am so glad that I did!

Really it’s all about the posing & flexing when people including myself try to make it look good for the gram 😂💪🏽 Don’t be fooled! No one is perfect & I know I ain’t but I am happy with where I’m at flexed or un-flexed ☺️

I may have gotten my workout in, but I made some poor choices in my diet these last few days 🤦🏻‍♀️ every time the weekend hits, I just give into my late night munchies after a few drinks 🙄 and I just felt like complete crap waking up this morning 😭 I really am not proud of myself at the moment, but shit happens & I am still doing my absolute best to re-train my body. At least I stick to it the majority of the week and that’s enough for me! Today is another rest day and I’m just using it all up to recover! I’m ready for you, Monday!

I’m pretty impressed with my butternut squash purée I made for Jaxon this morning ❤️ As I’ve told you before, I dislike cooking. I would rather clean or cook at someone else’s house so the mess stays there. But when it comes to this little boy I’ve really enjoyed putting meals together for him ❤️ I love knowing what I feed him is super healthy, fresh and has a ton of nutrients ❤️

Meal prep done in less than an hour..seriously! I took several shortcuts from awesome finds at Whole Foods to see if they worked and they totally saved me time. Here's what I made (and why they made my life so much easier).
*Pre-marinated chicken breast (1 chimichurri & 1 garlic & herb) = these were already cleaned and marinated so all I had to do was cut them into the size I wanted and cook, perfect!
*Frozen quinoa & veggies = I love fresh produce but I do use frozen from time to time, pop em in the microwave a few mins to save tons of time roasting in the oven *Spiraled sweet potatoes = big time saver, these were already peeled and spiraled which made them super easy to cook on the stove top. *Rotisserie cooked whole chicken from the deli = this ones a no brainer, it's already cooked and all I did was clean it and cut it up. Genius!

Find things to help you save time in the kitchen like precut produce.. yes they cost more but honestly, you're time is valuable. Also, don't be afraid to mix up fresh and frozen foods to help you with cuting down the cooking time process. Get prepping my friends!

Nothing like a nice bowl of spaghetti squash for dinner! Spaghetti squash is such a great alternative for pasta noodles and contains so many less carbs and calories. It's one of my favorite meals to make and a big squash usually lasts me a couple meals!

Directions: All I did was slice the spaghetti squash in half and used a spoon to scoop up the seeds and strings in the inside of the squash. Then I brushed the inside of the squash with olive oil and placed each half face down on a baking pan. I heated the oven to 400 and baked it face down for 45 mins. Once it was done I let it cool for about 5 mins and used a fork to scrape out the inside of the squash. I added @traderjoes garlic spaghetti sauce and feta cheese on top!

Truer words have never been said about running 😂Let's just say there were a lot of "just keep going for 1 more mile" head games going on today. But it doesn't matter how you get there, just that you keep on going! So with two weeks till marathon #2 and my longest training run complete I'm feeling good. This simple smoothie is delicious and packed with so many nutritional benefits! 
Banana-> potassium rich which helps with lower blood pressure.
Oats->fiber
Chia seeds->omega 3 fatty acids which help with inflammation
Cinnamon-->lows blood sugar and helps with digestion.

I could go on and on about the benefits of every ingredient in this bad boy 👊🏼 even though it's good for your body your taste buds will enjoy it too😜

INGREDIENTS:
•1 frozen banana
•1/3 cup oats
• 1 tablespoon of peanut butter with flax and chia seeds (or any nut butter)
• 1 scoop of vanilla flavored protein powder (I use vega)
• 1/2 to 1 tsp of cinnamon
•1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

Mix altogether in a blender and enjoy!

Filled some organic green cabbage leaves with the slow-cooker pulled pork made last week, guac, pico de gallo, sliced radish, diced red onions, avocado slices, fresh cilantro, and @wallabyyogurt Sour Cream with a squeeze of lime. Quick & easy, and now back to deep cleaning! Haven’t done much in the way of food prep today (aside from a roast in the slow cooker that is smelling damn good rn), but instead decided to deep clean the whole place top to bottom, and will try to prep a few things later!

I rarely get my period, and I gain weight as fast as I lose it! Starting to also to incorporate adaptogens like maca in order to balance my hormones so that I get back my period. Since when did food become so complicated? 😭

I knew that one egg wasn't going to give me the #protein needed after a pretty gruelling #strengthtraining Bootcamp this morning.. so, I simply added 1/2 a cup of well drained #blackbeans to my veggies - too easy! #veganprotein at its best! I always keep a can handy in the pantry.

Favorite new water bottle 🙌🏽! I know that I am late to join the Hydro Flask club. Ice cold water for hours and hours and hours, I love ❤️. I like this size because I can carry it in my purse along with all of my kid's stuff without it being super heavy.

Motherhood looks so different than I thought it would before I had my first baby. I thought being a mom meant being organized, having all the answers, generally knowing what you’re doing. But then I had Char and I remember asking Ben when she was only a few days old, “WHY did the nurses let us take her home?! Don’t they know we don’t know what we’re doing?!”

Now I know that motherhood is more about being vulnerable and learning the lessons my kids have to teach me, and the most important things I can teach them is to ask questions, be kind and humble, and to seek Jesus (the real Jesus, not a culturally fabricated version of him), and to trust the process. So thankful today (and every day) for the messy, joy-filled, privilege it is to be their mom.

Unpopular opinion but I LOVE Sundays. Especially when I spend them watching football + preparing for the week ahead😎They totally set the tone for my week + just a few small things can make the difference between starting the week off on the right foot vs. super-chaotic, behind on everything🙏🏻✨
1) Rest👵🏼 Whether I sleep in a little extra or take it easy throughout the day, if I start the week well-rested, I am usually much more successful throughout the week. Especially waking up for my Monday early morning workout🙃
2) To-Do list📝 I always take Sundays to cross off as many things on my to-do list so that I can start the week off staying on top of things, rather than scrambling to catch up. Laundry, prepping clothes for the week, its all super important to me👌🏼
3) FOOD😜 Sundays are my day to stock up my fridge + pantry with all the essentials. I also take a couple hours to prep… not usually meals but foods.
I wash off my lettuce, fruits, veggies for the week so that it’s super easy to grab🌿
I usually make 1-2 cooked lunches or dinners for those days that are super hectic
Snacks. I always always have snacks on hand for during the work day or after my workout… This week I’m dipping these incredible farmers market apples into smooooth @barneybutter + enjoying these  yummy @settonfarms pistachio chewy bites. Also: pretzels + hummus & homemade granola are on the list!
Overnight oats: Super quick to make + easy to grab in the mornings after my workouts. Top em with whatever you’d like… so yummy. In case you missed it, I’m giving away @oatsovernight on my last post!
