A glute focused day is definitely important for me to have in my plan looking at my goals. The gluteal muscles are also the bodies biggest muscle group so you shouldn't neglect training them. 
The first exercise I did in this video is a hip thrust in the leg extension machine, kinda akward but a really good exercise when you get it right. Second exercise is standing hamstring curl - love this machine as it really isolates the hamstrings. The last two exercises shouldn't be underestimated since they really burn out the glutes - on these ones I suggest you do more repetitions and also incorporate time under tension. Trust me on this - they are harder than they look.

HOW TO BUILD THE BOOTY BY @musclemonsters

The keys to building bigger glutes are not much different than most other muscle groups. 
_ 
1. Train your legs 2-3x per week and aim to perform 10-20 sets weekly (for quads and hamstrings).
_ 
2. Heavy compound lifts should be the meat of your workouts. Start off with heavy squats and Weighted Hip Thrusts and then move on to the smaller isolation lifts for more volume. 
_ 
3. Progressive Overload: When it comes to building muscle—glutes or otherwise—there is one thing for certain: it’s not going to happen unless you get progressively stronger. I don’t care how dialed in your nutrition is or how consistently you’re hitting the weight room, if you’re not stimulating growth through new stress, you’re not going to build muscle tissue.

TIP: If If you’re short on time and not working out that much when traveling, try to at least hit your legs + glutes in your workouts. These are the biggest muscle group + will burn the most calories, so you’ll get the most bang for your buck 💪

1. Banded lateral walk 
2. Banded squats 
3. Banded monster walk 
4. Banded hip abduction, kneeling 
5. Clam shell raises (bodyweight)

👉Do 15 reps of each move. (If it’s a single leg exercise this means 15 each side or each direction if it’s the lateral walk.)
👉Rest 30 seconds between each exercise. No rest between sides.

Real talk- I felt like crap yesterday so I missed my workout and had some off-plan soup and a Vernors (Detroit medicine)... and a couple cookies 🤫 Today I felt much better, and Karina kicked my butt (literally) at the gym.  I tried to talk myself out of my run. It’s cold, it’s snowing, I didn’t feel good yesterday... But nope, no excuses- strapped on the yaktrax and went!
