365 day run streak complete!! 635 more to go. Haha Running a mile everyday isn't easy and life throws you a bunch of curveballs but it's taught me to push through any challenge, become a better version of myself, never give up and always want more. The last month has been insane with evacuating for a hurricane, traveling for a wedding, preparing for our wedding, training and working crazy work hours. The road isnt easy but it's something I can look back on in 50 years and say, I did that. I'm averaging 3.4 miles day and a total of 1,245 for the year.
I got to take my cousin from Britain @nicksaffell up on his first Colorado summit today. It went so well that we decided to do two, #greyspeak and #torreyspeak . Apparently it's still September, but Mother Nature seems to think differently.
Working at this ranch has created for some incredible chance encounters with some amazing people from all over the world. From these individuals, I've been fortunate to receive much wisdom and guidance in regards to success, motivation, and personal fulfillment. When reflecting on this summer, my mind tends to think back to one woman in particular who shared with me what her definition of success was and what it took to get her to where she's at in life. That person is Lara, the founder of the popular health brand Larabar. What she shared with me went along the lines of "how in life, as you grow older, you start to realize that the rules that define you aren't the ones that have been told to you, but the ones you create for yourself. Once you reach that point of realization, is when you experience the total freedom of choice in who you want to become. Don't be scared of the obscure, and don't be afraid to follow your passions. The more uncomfortable you are today, the more comfortable you will be tomorrow". ____________________________
Ran into a fellow Capricorn, earlier this summer while climbing Grey's Peak. He made sure to pose for me before heading home. Cheers to the G.O.A.T! We may be hard headed but we're even more determined, persistent, and cool as a cucumber under pressure!
Really missing the beautiful mountains today! Man I feel so blessed that I got to spend that time in Colorado with my family though!
Looking back on this day is so surreal. I can't believe I climbed a 14er. If I tried to do that 2 years ago, I would have turned around a fourth of the way in! I am so thankful for my health. Ever since I have made working out a priority, my life has been so much brtter. I am loving life so much more because I can do more and I feel GOOD. And I feel HEALTHY. So today... I am thankful for my body, thankful that I am capable of working out and building strength!
