INSTAGRAM vs. REALITY
I've been in & out of the gym trying to get my consistency back & I thought it would be a perfect time to address what used to be one of my biggest insecurities: body fluctuations
On the left I'm flexing my abdomen vs on the right letting my bloat show in all its glory 😬 ( if it doesn't seem like a big difference to you idc cause I was ready to lowkey cry over it soooooo)
I know it can be hard to stay motivated on your fitness journey because there are so many things we cannot fully control like our time of the month, cravings & hormones, stress, etc. & scrolling through Instagram looking at "perfect" bodies takes a toll mentally when you're not feeling so awesome about yourself
I have to remind myself not to compare my normal everyday body to someone else's best posed version. Hell, I really hope none of you compare yourself to my usual posts especially because I bloat/carry weight around my stomach so easily. This pic is a result of just taking a week off (and this is NOTHING compared to the most bloated my stomach can get 😅) I definitely look like the left side maybe 40% of the time just living my life normally & ~70% if I stay disciplined with what I eat which I did not do during my time off (yo girl was EATING 🤤) I go from a small waist big 🍑 ratio to " hi I'm chi and 4 months pregnant" 🤷🏾♀️ And this in NO WAY knocks down any of my progress or the progress of others, it just shows that every badass on their journey still deals with all the same physical fluctuations more or less whether they choose to show it on Instagram or not. This is why "the only person you should be competing against is yourself" don't get yourself down comparing your body to someone who's showing you their 40%. You have to learn to love yourself through it all ❤️

Quad dominant training: 10x5 front squats today was rough - if you want to grow your legs and you aren't front squatting regularly, re-evaluate your program
I had every intention of getting in a hot fire flames leg workout today, but my lower back just wasn’t having it — so instead I foam rolled and stretched + sucked up a quick hiit workout that had me sweatin 💦.
In order to get where I want to be, I understand that it’s going to be a journey (including road blocks, stop signs & detours). But just like driving a car, just because there’s a detour or you break down, you don’t turn around and go home. You stop, fix the problem/find a different route & keep going.
I’m on the path to creating my own future + destiny and I’m going to do whatever it takes to get there. Doesn’t matter if I have to take the long way or a new way, I will never quit. THERE’S NOTHING I/YOU CANT HAVE. 🦁🏆
