Today was leg day and it felt great!  5x5 proves how strong I really am and in most of the exercises I did today, not only did I significantly increase my weight but I could have gone heavier! 330lb leg press, 135lb single leg glute kickbacks, 4 minutes waking lunges full incline on the treadmill, 110lb straight leg deadlifts (hard on my hands more than anything) and went up 15 lbs per side on leg extensions.  I also did some squats and lunges in the rack... Looking forward to tomorrow!

When you are stressed out, you are producing higher levels of the stress hormone, cortisol that can make you crave sweets and salty foods. Instead of trying to fight it, select a sweet or salty food that’s healthy for you. Before you reach for the donuts, make yourself a smoothie with your favorite fruit, nonfat milk and yogurt. If it’s salt you crave, eat some pickles, almonds or walnuts. Keep some of your healthy snacks on hand so you can easily turn to healthy options first.

Keep in mind that people have a tendency to underestimate the calories they consume and overestimate the calories they burn. Don’t think running a half marathon (or any form of exercise) means you can now eat whatever you want the rest of the day.

Another Monday upon us, and yet another great rule to success by Simon Sinek.

Today's post in Taking Accountability. Sometimes the one with the problem is the one staring at you in the mirror. Rather than complain and look for others to blame, accept your own mistakes, and rather than react irrationally, think logically, and look for a solution.

In today's world you have to be adaptable to the challenges and curve balls thrown your way. When somethings wrong or things aren't going your way, take that as an opportunity to change what is within you, and improve. Always working hard, always self-improving. If you're not losing weight in your fitness program, assess your diet, track your calories, maybe you're eating or drinking too much. You don't have enough time to get your work done, or fit in time for fitness, grab a pen/paper, write a schedule, and get better at time management. Always look for the solution, and make yourself better.

So take some accountability. Go after what you want. And make it happen. Coach P Out.

now that marathon is over & my body has fully recovered, no longer have hip or knee pain 🤗🤙🏼, I’m looking forward to focusing on pushing my body to its limits. recently I hit a new PR of 135 lbs on squats and I’m hoping by the end of this month I can do 145 #🏋🏽. also aiming to cut my 5K time from 28 min to 25 min by ending the year with 2 last 5Ks, hopefully I can get it done 🏃🏻‍♀️. I was going through some personal matters and it made me fall into a haze, but now that the fog is clearing and the smoke is settling, my vision has never ever been clearer than it is now. Currently four weeks out from my first powerlifting meet. I’m sitting at 154 lbs and preparing to compete in the 66 kg (145.5 lb) weight class. This is my second set of squats at 365 lbs for 2 reps. Before this workout, the heaviest I’ve ever squatted was 350 lbs for a single so I was really happy I hit 365 despite the sketchy walkout and second rep. Cutting while peaking is definitely not the move, but it will be worth it for the opportunity to break state records!
