Chicken and Mushroom Tagliatelle 🔥
Back in London and straight back to the grind - life has been non-stop since getting back from my trip to York late last night 😅 I was out teaching this morning, am now running to perform in a concert at my uni, and then am leading bible study tonight at church. So breakfast this morning was a similar packed version of this bowl, cause it doesn’t get much quicker and easier than overnight oats drowned in plant mylk and all the toppings (berries, pumpkin seeds and goji berries #ftw 🤗). What’re you all up to with your #humpday ?
Eggs are my fave, especially after an AM workout. This third @fairfaxnyc dish was straightforward and delish. 🍳
Pro tip: this dish is on the small side. Ask to pair with rye toast or add extra cauliflower.
Seriously my favorite breakfast 😍 I made a spiral ham in the crockpot for dinner when the fam came over this weekend. We had leftovers, so I used it in my omelette. Egg whites, ham and mushrooms with a tiny bit of ff mozz cheese, with a side of Ezekiel bread. So simple but so good. 😋 Good nutrition doesn’t have to be boring 🤓
#goodmorning !! 🙋🏽♀️ Fun Fact:
Papaya is a Cuban slang for Vagina! 😂
Growing up my grandmother told me to have papaya after eating as it aids in digesting. Here are a few other benefits of the beautiful fruit:
-Reduces acne/burns: The fleshy side of the papaya skin can be used as a mask to cure acne. Eating papaya regularly will help cure the skin internally -Treats constipation: the juice aids in digestion & the fiber obtained from the fruit helps to increase bowel movements
-Regulates menstruation, prevents arthritis, improves immunity, helps toothaches, weight loss and so much more! **Not recommended for pregnant women unless you're trying to push that baby out asap! 😁
How's this vagina shaped beauty for #wcw ?
“When you feel like quitting, think about WHY you started’” - @autumncalabrese Cardio Fix ✅. Still working to get back after the flu. Modified like a boss!! But still SWEATING!!! Now vacation can commence!!
My favorite food rule?🤔 No food rules!
Breakfast" bowl #SatisfactionFactor 💯😍 Sautéed red cabbage, sundried tomato, cilantro (quick tip: use the stems to stretch your dollar further!), and #Paleo , AIP slow cooker pulled pork. 🌱🐷 Coconut oil for cooking 🌴; pink salt for flavor. 😋And a half pot of coffee.😂☕️🌅
Don't box yourself in with food rules, like "its breakfast, therefore I must eat X." 🙅🏻It's unnecessary. It's just food, and only eating. This narrow way of thinking functions only to create additional unnecessary stress, which I'm pretty sure is already elevated for many people this time of year.
PSA stress increases cortisol, which can increase cravings and lead to fat storage, especially in the midsection.
Further, it perpetuates the dieting mindset- this all-or-nothing approach to food and eating, that only ever ends up nothing, which never leaves us feeling good physically or mentally. Food guilt? Yeah. It's a thing. Been there? 🙋🏻#
So, I challenge you to explore the in between, the middle ground, even if it's new, scary... unknown. And yes, I'm challenging you to practice this at what is one of the the toughest times of the year, but only because I know you can do it! And, if we can practice these healthier habits when it's tough, it'll be easy, no prob at all when all's good.
How can I help? Comment below or send me a DM and let me know.👇🏻📩#
Winter is the perfect time for watching movies, staying at home and relax. The only thing we definitely need is good food: #Beteroot Hummus spiced with ginger and curry. Choose the next Movie and ready, dip, go!
It's almost Thanksgiving and this year I am so thankful for so many things - including the opportunity to be with all the Blechman-Soleds (including Maddie! 🐶), the fact that I have enough energy at #33weeks to actually host Thanksgiving in the first place, and the upcoming arrival of this precious little nugget 💕 I am also particularly thankful around this time of year for my healthy relationship with food. The holidays (and associated meals) can cause massive anxiety and stress for so many people with worries about what to eat and fears of overindulgence. When no foods are "off limits" you take back your power over the big, bad meal! So this year, try just EATING for the holiday and let your mind relax. Have meals and snacks leading up to the big meal, and try to make them healthy/balanced if you can. Don't be afraid to try a little bit of everything at dinner but take smaller portions of it all to see what you really enjoy and what you're actually hungry for - seconds are always an option! And allow yourself to eat and ENJOY your favorite dessert that you look forward to all year. I promise you'll enjoy it even more if you feel good about your conscious decision 💕 PS - love this message and/or this shirt?
