Winter at Ginzan Onsen
Ginzan Onsen (銀山温泉, "Silver Mountain Hot Spring") is a secluded hot spring town nestled in the mountains of Obanazawa, Yamagata Prefecture. The area originally developed around a silver mine, but is better known today as one of Japan's prettiest onsen towns with historic ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) lined up along the river.

~Animals were used widely all throughout war. In WWll when we think of animals that were used for various things we usually imagine a horse and the different things they carried all over the battlefield. However, mules were a very vital animal during WWll. When automotive vehicles could not do the job of climbing mountainous areas such as Italy, the armies would then require a mule to do the job. The allies especially the United States relied heavily on mechanical vehicles whilst the axis knew their terrain was more fit for pack animals. Being a pack animal they carried weapons, medical supplies, and even hauled wounded soldiers away from battle.
Quote from Merrill Marauders 4, April 1944, "Japanese artillery fire had killed or wounded most of the units mules...The remaining animals also blocked enemy fire with their bodies, one mule having (26) holes from a Japanese machine gun," describes how the mules were not only useful for carrying equipment, but they saved lives. The one mule in the quote particularly having (26) bullet holes from a Japanese machine gun.

After a 3am start this morning in Lima, we arrived in the Sacred Valley of the Incas to this breathtaking view. Absolutely no filter here! The Sacred Valley was an extremely important region for the Inca and and pre-Inca civilisations due to the fertile soil that allowed these civilisations to grow food and flourish.

The Larco Museum in Lima is a privately owned collection of remarkable pre-Columbian archeological discoveries. We were left in awe of the amazing artifacts dating back before Christ that were restored and displayed in all their glory. This image depicts the funerary bundle of a 4 year old infant who lived and died during the 8th century AD. The ancient Peruvians believed the preparation of the body, in all its finery, was an important stage of the deceased's journey into the afterlife and their transformation into an ancestor or supernatural being.
