With over 1,000 followers, I thought I should say “hi!” If you stumbled across my page, you’re probably aware that running is pretty important to me. I’m currently training for my 3rd marathon and first BQ attempt, which I’ll be running on October 28th. Running didn’t become a hobby of mine until I rescued my dog, Olive, in October 2014. She was 6 months old and about 95% Duracell bunny (and about 5% potty trained). 😳😅 I had to take her for nightly runs (2-3 miles) or she’d sprint around my 3rd floor apartment for hours at night. With time, running with Olive became something I looked forward to as much as she did. My endurance and strength improved and I trained for my first half marathon (and first race ever) in December 2015. The race was on the three-year anniversary of the date my older brother, Michael, passed away at age 23. I ran it in his memory. All of my runs are in his memory. Running isn’t just an obsession for me; it’s a coping mechanism for my brokenness. The faster and further I ran, the more I healed. I ran my first marathon in November 2016, raising over $3,000 for charity in Michael’s memory with the help of family and friends. Since grief is a marathon in itself, I can’t foresee a day when I won’t need running in my life. So while I’m alive and able to run, I’m going to pour my heart and soul into it. Connecting with others who share my passion for running is what this IG community means to me. And it truly means so much to me. You inspire me and support me and understand my running crazy. Thank you all for that. ALSO, Olive and I still run together all the time (just not long runs or speed work) AND now she even has a yard all to herself to run her endless circles. ❤️🏃♀️🐕❤️

✨ Sumo stance requires greater mobility through the adductors so may get you working on your range more ! .
✨ A bigger knee extending motion means increasing your glutes and your quads so good for these areas of focus! .
✨ great if you like to lift heavier weights as the range isn't as great as a conventional which allows you to pull slightly more ! 😃
Ps both variations of deadlifts are 👌🏽 and I would never neglect conventional deadlifts entirely as it also has its many benefits!!💪🏽 #happyhumpday 🍑
Here’s a little of my back + bicep workout from today. Honestly, if I’m gonna skip a day, it’s back/bis. Out of all my muscle groups I feel like my lats & biceps are the most defined. This is my second home. After a hard day at work this is my playground. I strive at the gym. I know I'm not a personal trainer although that is one of my goals for the future. Starting a new training regime called: My ass is broke; Home Workout 101.
Here is a simple lower body and core workout.
All these movements when done properly activate your core also working your back and shoulders when adding weight.
Here I found a 5KG weight to hold whilst doing this workout. Feel free to use anything around the house that is easy to grip and has some weight to it.
Ie 2 Ltr Milk Bottle, 5Ltr Detergent etc.
Training doesn't need to be about buying the fancy clothes to look good at the gym, where you pay $80 p/month and maybe go once every fortnight when you feel like you look half decent to do so. It may start off that way people, but it does get easier, you get better and you will feel better.
Dont compromise your dreams by fear.
Just take one step at a time. 😊
Squats 12 × 3
Stiff leg lifts 12 x 3
Squat to sumo squat jumps 12 x 3
Single leg lunges 12x3 each side.
Aim for 3 or more sets.
