Not at my heaviest and not at my lightest. Feeling so happy and relieved today that I’m back on track. Also I’m terrified! I’m scared I’m going to slip up, give up, go back to bad habits, gain weight, not be successful, and fall flat on my face. I constantly feel this voice in my head that’s crying whyyyyy can’t I just eat that donut or that cookie! Why can’t I have burgers and fries and pizza and all the things! I want them all. I guess I’ll always have that voice, sometimes it will be really loud and win, and sometimes I’ll laugh at it’s ridiculousness. It’s my ongoing #weightlossjourney and I’m just trying to be the best version of myself. That’s really all I can do. Staying strong 💪 💪

Took my lunch break to the gym to train and did the quickest training session than I have had in a while. Warmed up, worked up to my working sets, 5x5 box squats, a little mobility stuff, cleaned up and went back to work.
I had a rough meeting this morning and it left me super anxious. So I decided lifting something might help and it sure did. I'd never eat huuuge amounts of fresh apricots yet when I eat the dried ones I eat 20+ with ease😅 Honestly, when I just started my fitness journey I would sometimes mindlessly eat halve a package of dried apricots wich comes close to 700 calories. Why? It was healthy & yummy so it felt like I had a free pass to eat as many as I wanted🤷🏻‍♀️

There's no need to cut dried fruits out of your diet but as with everything moderation is key!🗝 I know some people find it stupid that I adress this but lots of people in the beginning of their journey confuse the term "healthy" with "low calorie" or "weightloss". 😶

Healthy foods aren't nessecarily low calorie and low calorie doesn't always mean healthy🙅🏻 Yes it's great if you replace your daily "unhealthy" snacks with dried  fruits! But if you want to lose some weight at the same time just do it in moderation! 💁🏻

Eat mindfully and enjoy what you're eating! 💕Otherwise you migh end up eating 1/3 of your daily calorie intake in dried fruits. 😶

Personally I prefer high volume foods over calorie dense foods cause it feels like I get to eat more💁🏻 Others might not care about that and prefer the calorie dense foods. In the end it's all up to you what you do! .

Starting with my most recent obession of @grenadeofficial hazel nutter spread on toasted high protein bread w/ banana 😍🙌🏾. For my desserts, a greek yogurt sundae using @lightandfit caramel apple strudel yogurt topped with all the fixings and some coconut oreos.  For my meals, another of my favorites, if you have seen from my stories is creamy coleslaw.  Today I added canned chicken to it and it was pretty good.  Lastly, for breakie I had my usgg protein coffee and another recent fav by @jillchristinefit which was an egg, egg white ham n cheese burrito 🌯. These waffles are SO easy, and they only have 3 carbs for both! Macros for both waffles are 30P/3C/6.5F. To make you need: • 1 scoop PEScience select protein

So I actually never realized there was a station at one of our dining locations that served rice, chicken, and hella veggies until my bf showed it to me a couple days ago. And he doesn’t even go here.😂🤦🏻‍♀️ But this has been one of my meals the last couple days and will continue to be in the future! I have brown rice, steamed broccoli, and grilled chicken. I just take it all home and weigh out the chicken and rice and then DEVOUR IT. Tastes so good and is so satisfying! Sometimes I love the simple meals made with simple ingredients.❤️

Chin ups were in my lifting program so I couldn't escape them.  And I had convinced myself that as soon as I tried, everyone in that gym was going to see me fail.  Because I am sure everyone around me was doing nothing but watching me....right?  Um, no.  Haha  I decided it was time to buck up and stop caring what others around me thought.  How will I ever learn or suceed if I am too affraid to try?  Slowly,  I have made progress.  I went from only being able to do assisted (like heavily assisted 😂) to three sets of 4 unassisted.  That is no outstanding number,  but progress.  Perfection doesn't come over night.  It comes after hard work.  And it can be a slow process.  Have patience and don't give up.  Try harder.

We are so hard on ourselves, because we let our struggles consume us instead of using them as opportunities to grow. Just the other day I slept through my alarm and woke up in a shitty mood because “I’ve done it again😑”. I slowed down and started to pay attention to my thoughts. I was being so mean and hard on myself! I need to remember that I work hard at the gym and everyday and sometimes my body needs a little extra rest! After that I had a very productive day and finished it in a very good head space 😇

Recently I’d been struggling to sleep and when I do I was waking up all through the night. My good pal @sophhirst suggested I try bedtime yoga! I’ve done it for the past few nights now and I’m loving it! It really relaxes me and my body feels way less tense which is helping me to doze off like a baby! It’s also great as sometimes when I get home from my show at night my body has tensed up so helps with DOMS!

Well, as any good coach will tell you...it depends. A few things to take in to consideration.👇

1️⃣Full squats produce greater muscle development in the lower body. Hitting the glutes, hamstrings, and quads.
.
2️⃣Full squats build structural balance. They train paraspinal muscles of the lower back in conjunction with the glutes.
.
3️⃣Full squats strengthen connective tissue. This leads to a better distribution of the load over the joint structure of the femur, hip and knee.

As you can see, we promote full range of motion for squats.👌

The easiest way to continue squatting with full range of motion while making the exercise more glute focused is to simply hinge at the hip.

As you can see in this video, the squat is being initiated through both the hip and knee. The range of motion is being specific towards allowing for a hip dominant contraction (glutes). Moral of the story here is, whether it's full range of motion or partial - if you want to make sure the glutes are being worked... you have to execute the contraction of the glutes well. Squeezing them, keeping them tense and trying your best to create as much muscular tension in them as possible while lifting and lowering the weight.

For some reason I've been itching to make meatballs but every time I'd hop on @pinterest I never found a recipe that seemed easy and quick or didn't have a gazillion ingredients. I decided to take one that seemed doable and edit it a bit to fit my needs. 
Not only was this meal yummy, it was a great way to get the family involved in making dinner! -----
Ingredients (swipe for full details)
Meatballs
•1 package ground turkey
• Italian spices/garlic salt
•finely diced onion
•minced garlic
•1 egg
• 1/2 cup grated parmesan
• 1/2 cup Pablo --
Spaghetti
• 4 zucchini spirilized
• 1/2 Jar spaghetti sauce
------
Directions:
▪mix all meatball ingredients in a bowl (if following macros be sure to weigh each thing)
▪divide meat mixture into equal sized meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet. (Insert little helpers!)
▪bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes or until done
▪while meatballs are cooking spirilize zucchini (little helpers are great here too!)
▪place zoodles I'm a skillet and add spaghetti sauce
▪cover and cook until noodles are done
