I always try to be honest but there's a line I don't like to cross. I don't like to talk about the side of the moon that isn't shining.
I wrote about how I love running, but didn't mention most of August I barely walked more then a mile after pushing my knee too far. I still ice them every day.
I talked about getting up early, but the last three days - in a row - I slept through my alarm.
I talk about publishing my book in December (I did say that somewhere, right?), but didn't tell you I've been writing and editing this. one. book. for 21 months, and its not even close to being done.
I don't like to fail. Or be seen as weak. Or to admit when I can't do something.
But when I carved out a few minutes every morning to share something here, this was my view and today I couldn't pretend this part of my life isn't happening.
This is real life and unlike good stories, you don't get the satisfaction of a perfect conclusion. I don't have one. I know I'll fail again. I know I'll sleep past my alarm or say the wrong thing to someone I care about or make a bad decision.
But that's okay. Because making a mistake isn't what defeats you, it's choosing to not try again. And I refuse to stop trying.
As I'm sitting here, in my little gym, sweating it out, perusing SM and feeling a little bummed out this job opportunity isn't happening...I came across this! So! I thought Fyeah! Sent out a couple (more) emails and called (even more) people just to network (#imasocialintrovert ) and I now have an 11:15am meeting. BAM! Take that!
Oh yes, and the skin cancer that was taken off a few days ago? Not a big deal! So you see! It's a wild ride and I'm totally down for the E-ticket! If you don't know what an E ticket is: 1. We can't be friends anymore 2. Look it up #Disneyland#perspective#powertocreatechange
How do I get it all in? I get asked this question all the time. How do I run 2 business, be a mom of 3, cook healthy meals every day, workout, etc? .
Let's make this clear. I am not a super woman. I have things that slip through the cracks. But the priorities I try to hit every day. .
And that means working in the pockets of time. I don't sit down and work my coaching business for hours a day. I check my challengers throughout the day. I'm in the preschool parking lot and helping a new customer getting signed up. I plan plan plan. I make lists. .
I do what I can. I set the priorities. And I don't eat myself up if something has to wait until tomorrow.
