From 2014-2016 I was given the opportunity to to teach yoga & mindfulness full time at FDA in Harlem. It was a great experience to seer the practice take hold. Here is an excerpt from this mornings writing🙏"On a long enough time scale, all of our creations and achievements will turn to dust. Time is a rat, gnawing away at our achievements. The lovely physical body will give way to gravity, we will lose our balance as the neurological system weakens, and the muscles will atrophy as the bones become weak. The lovely home, our business, nothing is permanent. So what will matter when we are gone? If we are to lead a meaningful life, we must pursue good work. This journey always begins with our own purification and education. Some folks are fortunate (have the karma) to be born into a family where spiritual knowledge exists and are shown the light earlier. Most of us come to understand ourselves through suffering and pain. After experiencing pain over and over again, and after exhausting our search to quench our thirst through examining the objects of the world (food, drugs, sex, alcohol, nice possessions) there is only one place left to look. Inside. No amount of beautiful sex, cars, power, status, or money can fulfill the incessant desire of the mind. We will always want more. If we ruled Earth, we would head for the solar system, then the galaxy, then reach out and out and out. We are equipped with a natural desire to experience infinity, but there is no possibility of experiencing wholeness outside of ourselves. The journey to the infinite begins with our eyes closed. When we understand that nothing in the whole wide world will ever fulfill us, make us feel complete, the spiritual path begins.”
Shalini, an engineering graduate from Manipal has been battling overweight issues right from her college years and the scale kept fluctuating until recently when she started training under my guidance.
People fail to realize that the sole reason for disease like type-2 diabetes and obesity is mostly insulin resistance and not their fate, genetics or inactivity. You fix the hormone and everything gets back on track.
Shalini was excited right from the start which helped her constantly lose weight in the last one month. As a result of following my prescribed diet and daily workouts, she lost 17 pounds in just 30 days.
She is going strong and is determined to lose another 15 in the coming month. Stay tuned for her progress.
