500 Trains to Complete Journey Faster From Next Month, New Timetable Soon
Indian Railways planning to improve speed of over 500 trains.
New timetable to be introduced soon.
Running time of trains is set to be reduced by 15 minutes to two hours.
A senior Railway official said that timings of over 500 long-distance trains would be improved. Running time of trains is set to be reduced by 15 minutes to two hours once the railways introduced “innovative timetabling” on the directions of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. “In the new timetable around 50 such trains which will be run like this. Fifty-one trains will immediately see reduced run time from one to three hours. This will go up to more than 500 trains,” the official added.
Trains such as the Bhopal-Jodhpur Express will reach 95 minutes early while the Guwahati-Indore Special will complete its 2,330-km journey 115 minutes early and the 1929-km journey of the Ghazipur-Bandra Terminus Express will be completed 95 minutes earlier. Railways is planning to reduce halt timings of trains. Also, stoppage of trains at stations where low footfall has been recorded will also be done away with.
Soon after taking charge as Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal had made it clear that improving the infrastructure and passenghers’ safety is on top of his agenda. Goyal had laid out an extensive plan to “transform-” Indian Railways, which has been grappling with issues since ages.
#TTAstories - @stylomannavan - "I’m an entertainer at core. I actually started off as a breakdancer and it was my friends who got me into Tamil Hiphop. In Malaysia, most of us can't read or write Tamil, so Tamil Hiphop was basically like an urban Tamil school for me which let me dig deeper into my roots.
I doubt myself all the time. I’ll get many song ideas in my head, but the hard part is to deliver it in the right way. Reality is what gives the power to imagination – the challenge is knowing how to deliver your imagination to reality. But once the song is done – all doubts are gone. ~
The thing with independent music is, many people see it as stairs to Kollywood. While Kollywood do let artists get bigger exposure – you can’t settle there. It can be a stepping stone for your independent success but it shouldn’t be your final destination. My dream is to see Tamil music get mainstream. Just like Korean Pop is it’s own genre and Spanish music is more mainstream (just think of Despacito). But if someone hears Tamil music today, they’ll automatically assume it’s Bollywood/Hindi music – and it shouldn’t be that way. ~
It’s time to put Tamil music on the map."
