Very upset to say that the little kitten didn't make it. He declined since I got him on Tuesday, and today he was very lethargic and weak. Ended up vomiting half the food I syringe fed him. Was about to give him some SQ fluids only to find he had passed.
I know I did what I could, but I can't help but feel I could have done more. Maybe if I had gotten up every half hour instead of every hour to give him some water he wouldn't have gotten so dehydrated. He was just so tiny, and so precious. He likely had Feline Distemper, and I knew going in with his five siblings having died that the odds were greatly stacked against him.
Fostering these little ones is so hard, hard to watch them go to their forever homes after so much work, but even harder when this happens. He's the second one out of 22 foster kittens that have passed on me. Even though it breaks my heart, I'll never stop fostering. I know there are so many more out there who need saving and help.
Inspecting the haul I got from my furriend @burtonthecat today! So many wonderful things. Mammis loves the sandwich bag and the little cat decor things she got. I love everything, especially the kicker, little mice, and the cat grass seeds for in the winter! (And who could forget my favorite food!) Daddis can't wait to play with the bouncy ball toy with me also! 💞🐈 #mtmgiftclub17
