Today was one of those autumn days where you can still feel summer lingering. It is the equinox today so summer is officially over but it didn't feel like it.
After a fairly stressful week at work I knew I was feeling anxious because all I wanted to do was go home and stay in my house. Being in nature is restorative so I decided to go for a walk after work.
This is Queen's Valley Reservoir. There are houses under the water (including the house uses for filming Bergerac's home in the 1980s eponymous TV series). There is an abundance of wildlife including many birds and insects. I saw a kestrel as soon as I arrived.
There's a feast for the red squirrels with all the sweet chestnuts.
The structure in the reservoir reminds me of a Bond villain's lair!
The last photo is geese from the reservoir in the main road - a hazard of rural life!
I felt distinctly relaxed afterwards and now I can enjoy my weekend.
