Don't run before you can walk. We all know this phrase, but rarely apply it. A great example of where it very rarely gets applied is with double unders. Most end up stunting their own double under potential by focusing too much on the DOUBLE UNDER. Do you have SINGLE UNDERS down? Singles that feel easy and look easy? If not you probably are running before you walk. 
Try to start with being able to do 200 reps of singles without being fatigued by the end. This is a good starting point to focus more on double unders. Obviously correct position is hugely important. If you're arms are too straight, too far back, too far forward, at different heights, wrists aren't rotating or your body is twisted while jumping, you will never find singles or doubles feeling easy. Skip in front of a mirror or take videos of yourself to check and correct it. 
The next step is what you see in the video. To get the timing and jumping correct for the double under, make it easy for yourself and just do a big jump every 3 or 4 reps with your singles. When you can do that EASILY then progress to jumping the exact same way but add the double under. It will make it feel SOOOOO much easier! Next, get your single-double-single down pat. And then once it's EASY, break into consecutive double unders. 
If you follow smart progressions and don't rush your development, you'll be finding sets of 100 double unders feeling easy. I know I’m jumping rope funny but I’m getting there...my knees are super weak. But In a couple of weeks I’ve seen improvements I can say I couldn’t even squat I needed help getting up so I’m proud of my self 💪🏼😘 @choppz95 . Gotta start somewhere. Only to improve . .

Today in the ZGYM: 12 minute HiiT Jump rope Cardio with 50:10 intervals x 12. 👟👟 This workout may have only been 12 minutes, but oh man. It was an X for Xtreme. 🔥🔥 I remember when I first started doing workouts in the ZGYM, I had to frequently pause Zuzka's videos to catch up. I remember thinking, "Dang. I need to get stronger!" And at the time, I thought I was! .

It's been over a year since I have had my ZGYM membership, and I am happy to say that I don't pause any of the videos anymore. This isn't to say that the training isn't tough. But I would like to think that I can keep up now, because I have gotten stronger. And I feel thrilled, and so grateful for this. 🙌🙏 .

Today, we’re exploring how overeating translates to the amount of time you require to burn the excess calories off through exercise. Now, if you’ve been following me, you’ll know that I don’t agree with exercising to burn calories most of the time. If you don’t understand why I’d suggest you go check out my NEAT series posts.

However, my rule about not exercising to burn calories isn’t set in stone. It doesn’t apply to everyone, especially you, the "reet petite” female.
.
You, more than anyone, will have to use cardio as a tool much sooner than other people. Why? Because, there’s only so much calorie restriction you can put up with until you go on a binge fest or hit a wall.
.
Having said that I also want to emphasise the importance of strength training to your long-term fat loss and maintenance.
.
Relying on diet and cardio alone just won’t cut it I’m afraid. you HAVE to build muscle and change your body composition. It’s NOT just about losing weight. In fact if you do it right you’ll end up toned, slimmer and possibly heavier than when you started this fitness journey.
.
The biggest challenge for you is that in order to reach your goal you’re likely going to have to go through several cycles of the process of losing weight and building muscle as a beginner and then at some point you’ll have to gain muscle and some fat to then lose the fat again and maintain the muscle.
.
Think of the process as taking 1 step back to move 2 steps forwards. The biggest CHALLENGES you’ll face?

Your patience and belief.

This video is for the people who THINK they are unable to jump rope. Maybe you like the idea, want to add it to your repertoire but have given up on it because it's just not clicking. Although this is a more advanced trick the idea of how I learned to do it is the same. Remove the rope from the equation. Majority of this video is me just talking about how I learned to do the trick, I had to lose the rope and break it down just like I would if I was a beginner. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone trying to learn how to jump rope and can't seem to get the timing right. Excuse how choppy the video is, I was talking a lot and had to get the main points in and still show the trick in a 60 second video lol. Sidebar: I've actually been loving this gym life. I might not qualify as a gym rat yet but I've definitely become some type of gym rodent! Oh and shoutout to @_the_unc0nventi0nal_mrs she gave me some good advice on learning this trick, she's nice with the jumping skills💪🏾...
