🇽🇰A dignified, reverent program of music and theater was held in the city of Pristina in Kosovo. A professional choir and opera singer performed musical pieces for the 200th anniversary of the birth of #Bahaullah . Many of the musical compositions were created specially for the #bicentenary .🇽🇰 ⠀
I was absolutely charmed when I entered "Petrit Halilaj: Ru” @newmuseum the other day only to enter into a whimsical world where artifacts run free on two bird like legs across the gallery. “Ru” is part of Halilaj’s exploration of Kosovo’s, his native country, history as well as his exploration of the patterns and habits of migratory birds. When his country had a conflict in the 90s, artifacts were dispersed and the most valuable were held in the Natural History Museum in Belgrade. By giving the reproduced artifacts in the exhibition legs, he questions whether these historical objects should belong in one place. He likes to think of the exhibition space as a temporary place of gathering for these objects where they are reunited and thrive in the moment and then will move on.
