What would you do if you're boss asked you to hand in your report by the 'close of play'? You'd do it right away, of course! This phrase comes from sports and in the business world simply means the end of the working today.

SONG Puzzle 🎵
for this game, you'll need to select a song 🎹 and print out the lyrics with enough space between lines. so you can easily cut the lyrics into strips. you may separate students into small groups of two or three and give each group a set of lyric strips 📃
then play the song over and over, while your students try to put the lyrics into the correct order. 📝
doing song puzzles reinforces sentence order and helps students with their fluency of speech

❗PRESENT CONTINUOUS & GOING TO for the future❗
🇬🇧We use PRESENT CONTINUOUS when we have already decided and arranged to do something.
EX1: Jane is flying to Paris tomorrow. ( she has already bought the tickets).
EX2: I am meeting Tom next Friday. (we have arranged it).
EX3: ~What time is Cathy arriving tomorrow? > Half past ten. I'm meeting her at the station. ( she has already bought the tickets).
🇬🇧We use GOING TO when we have an intention to do something, but perhaps we haven't arranged it yet. We still can change our mind or our ideas.
EX1: ~Your shoes are dirty.
> Yes, I know, I'm going to clean them. (I've decided to clean them, but I haven't arranged to clean them).
EX2: ~ I hear Sarah has won some money. What is she going to do with it?
> She's going to buy a new car. (she has an intention to buy a new car but she hasn't paid yet and she still can change her ideas). EX3: We were going to travel by train, but then we decided to go by car instead.

Oh my the delay of my diary entry is getting too long 😂 But anyway this is my 10/13/‘17 day #5 entry for my #languagediarychallenge “오늘은 아프지만 나는 직강에 갔어요. In English:
“Today, eventhough I was sick I went to work (I work as a teacher). After work I went back home. I was so tired I felt asleep for 3 hours. I woke up at 9 and cleaned up my house. After that I tried to study korean (but if course because I was sooo sick and tired I didn’t study well...)”.

This wasn't part of our school activity but a few of our #LexisBusan students got together and ran their own "cooking class" where our kind local Korean students taught our international students how to make #유부초밥 also known as #inarisushi then ate them as lunch together! :)

Made that same mistake with 하고 again, but overall I'm happy.
What I wrote isn't wrong, but it is wrong in the sense that 하고 is taught in this lesson so they want you to use them.
Aside from that, I got all of these correct because I went back for words that I knew, but didn't know how to spell.
What that tells me is that chapter 12 has vocabulary lists that I need to spend more time memorizing. 🤓 This chapter is long, so they introduce a lot of new words.
I'm very happy. Going through this book for the second time, when both the lessons and exercises are easy, that's when I know I have learned and understood the material. I don't recall if I've mentioned this, but I was never good at studying. Honestly, I hoped I'd be further in my progress after 3 years, but this is still better than wishing I started. 😁😁❤ -K
