Part of the series: Last Harvest
In late October of 2017, my wife and I traveled to Iowa to photograph her uncle, Don. Don has been a lifelong farmer tending to his family’s land for nearly his entire career. When we got there he was in the middle of harvesting his crop of corn, but this was no ordinary harvest. This harvest was special - this was the last harvest before Don’s retirement. The last time he would farm to his family’s land.
I will be posting the rest of the series of black and white photographs documenting Don’s last harvest.
In a tribute to artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian (for whom a museum dedicated to her work opened in Tehran last Friday), here’s a portion of artistic Iranian mirrorwork, the like of which inspired her. Shot at the Mirror and Lighting Museum in Yazd, Iran.
